It's a topic that needs to be refreshed new memebers are coming in everyday and not reading old threads

Lots of noobs in the marsh! It's not just listing practices either it's a whole lot of rules and gentlemen agreements that's being shredded of late..... :RWI:

I always wondering - why we're bragging, that we have more, than 60,000 members? 95% of them never become VIPs, never contribute, never participate... They come, grab the watches, or sell their obvious crap, and disappear. So, What's the point? I'm watching newcomers for the last few months... Only 4-5 became active members. But hundreds came. Where they are? And then we see - a member with 3 or 4 posts trying to unload a bunch of shit in M2M.
So, the question to Administration - do we really need such a "members"? Good people suffer.
I think, all we need, is:

And this:

Would take care of funding issues for the forum!

You wanna sell? Please pay 'here' first for your VIP membership.

It seems a good amount of the "new members" seem to come here just to sell stuff. Do they add anything positive and beneficial to the forum? I really don't think so............

That's exactly, what I'm saying. People suffer, tension raise, who benefit? No one.

If VIP members posted their sales in the VIP section it would solve a lot of these issues.

I'm game for that as I've been pushing for a while to build up our VIP section,,,,, but it would take big numbers of members deciding to make this kind of thing work,,,, it would boost membership for the forum and allow admin the opportunity to have the info they need to control things a bit better......it all starts with us, if the best watches were only available in the VIP section alot of these noobs would be jumping at the opportunity to pay that $35 fee.

I'm one of the few who's posted sales in VIP. But the last two horror stories I've heard about involve a person in this thread.

100 post minimum. If posts by member are deemed as "self-serving" then member would be cautioned and disallowed from sales area.

Who was that?

The other thing for me is how problems are dealt with... They can and will come up... I suppose, that's where mods come in. In my experience, mods are a great help.

Big thanks to them!

Absolutely agree on this. I have seen quite a few members that don't contribute, participate here but only to sell their watch which don't know where they got it from. Some seems fishy to me by stating it as Swiss movement(Stated) and watch is service by local watchsmith so that they could price it at a higher price.

Really need some filtering imo.........

Ahhhh I'm probably guilty of this stuff now. I just listed 9 watches that I barely touched and almost never wore, and shuffled them off in one swoop like a McDonald's drive thru. One watch turned out to be in rough condition and I listed it as near mint. :picard:

I haven't shipped it yet, and I disclosed it to the seller and he claims to be OK with it, but I think I'm gonna take another look at it when I get home and refund if I don't like what I see.

I'm never listing a bunch of watches like that again. Next time I'm doing one at a time.

If it were my deal, I'd be vociferous. But I'm well aware of the bad deal, and so are others. If the member involved wont speak up, I won't. But some of us should buy mirrors.

It was me:facepalm: I sold Luth my **** ring and advertised it as being average size, I should have disclosed it was more like the size of a tuna can. Sorry bud!:hehehe:
