There's no doubt that a gen is superior in lume to the XF Zero.

I am curious as to the Noob V4 vs XF 005

Me too. But for reference and evaluation the comparison must always be against the gen and not other reps.

Congrats! It has slowly become my favourite ... until my next PAM :)
Thanks! Getting a lot of compliments from it. Btw, anyone here know how to change straps? Is there a special tool needed to unscrew the strap on the side? :ashame:

I bought the XF too soon ....having second thoughts about it now because of the different lume brightness between the hands and the dial. its obvious numerous times a day going form outdoors to indoors. dial loom is very weak and hands are much brighter.....too noticeable for my eyes!

My Noob 111 is similar to your gen in that the lume brightness matches and looks fantastic. Wish the noob had the XF case with more gen-like lug position.

Wish it was easy to source Gen dials and crystals. I'd definitely buy both and be very satisfied not to buy the Gen

you’re having second thoughts about your $200 rep that is perfect in almost every way except a slight difference in the lume that’s noticeable for maybe a minute or two? That’s some serious nit-pickery right there

You are correct.... it’s too nit-picky (considering it’s not real) I admit it but, I’m just being honest with my thoughts. My eyes notice it every time which is multiple times a day considering the line of work I do. I’m Constantly going indoors and outdoors.

The lume is more noticeable on the wrist to everyone not just the watch connoisseur. I’d rather have crystal height a little too high or fat CG or too big crown gap or lugs connecting too high or too low than a complete obvious color lume difference which, even my secretary noticed and made a comment about. :(

I’m still in the adjustment phase of trying to get used to Rep watches and having realistic expectations. I prefer my Noob 111 and can wear that one with more confidence than the XF. Everyone one of us has our own expectations (mine are still in adjustment phase) in wearing a rep and what we choose to tolerate and what we choose not too.

Lol yeah. Who’s this guys secretary?

Angelo Bonati? :hehehe: Although I doubt even he would be so anal as to comment on the lume on a PAM. He knows how infamous OP manufacture consistency is to even pass judgement on a variable such as lume intensity.

@BBRSH it's totally fine if your secretary is so anal and her opinion bothers you that much. Maybe she worked at Nemoto (who invented and manufactures Luminova) or has a specialist degree in phosphorescence. I don't know what kind of job that you do that requires you to look at your watch often (I normally only look at it to admire the watch, no relation to work. There are chimes to let you know what time it is and if I need to check the time, most of the work areas have large clocks hanging on the walls).

Honestly I've seen gen photos of other gen modern PAMs where the hands and dial lume do not match. But be that as it may, if it bothers you too much, then you can C&R the watch soon. I'm sure there would be plenty of interest (if you were local I'd get it off your hands right now). Or have it relumed by a modder who will relume it to your exacting specifications. Either way, good luck enjoying the hobby.

As Mysterio says: in some cases gen luminosity has different degrees of variation between hands and dial numerals/bars. I've seen it in GTG sessions here in DFW. Also, I've noticed rep luminosity being more intense than some gen watches, specifically the Noob V3 version of the 111N and the H Factory 005K.
With this XF 000 looks like a VAC relume would put it over the top so our coworkers stay away of our very gratifying hobby.....

Great info here guys, I thought I had finished buying Reps but I think this one is going to have to be bought.

My only other Pam is a 111 but I think the sausage dial and included "9" make this dial much crisper and cleaner so if available I'm going to order.

I wish my secretary would comment on my watch, let alone the lume on the watch [emoji51]

Seriously, if lume is the only issue then it is easily solved. Think there is nothing much you could do if the problem lies with the case.

I wish I had a secretary.

And if you saw mine, you'd definitely wish you had one!!

Fellas, don't jump the gun.....man, so harsh with doubt and strong comments. "She", wasn't being anal (i'm the anal one), she, made a simple comment as she was waiting besides my desk for me to sign papers; "your watch sticks glow bright - its easy to see the time." Yes......she said sticks!!! Simple, innocent comment about what her eyes saw at that moment and that was the end of it.

This, just happen to take place the first day I wore the watch. I didn't even notice it until she said something. but after that, thats all I focused on......... ( @mysterio yes, I look at my watch(s) often especially, if I am wearing a new one - irrespective of wanting to know the time  ) Then, later the next day I notice recent posts on this thread about the same thing so I made a comment. Looking back, I had a feeling of extreme frustration - after all the countless hours I've spent on this forum the last couple months trying to read everything I could and educate myself before I pulled the trigger, then someone like my secretary makes the comment and points out something that I never even thought to consider. just quite comical i guess.....

In any event, now that @mysterio and @granvino educated me that its quite common that Gen(s) luminosity can have different variations, it put my mind at rest. I will also search VAC mod to learn what this is and where I can get it done.
