And if you saw mine, you'd definitely wish you had one!!

Fellas, don't jump the gun.....man, so harsh with doubt and strong comments. "She", wasn't being anal (i'm the anal one), she, made a simple comment as she was waiting besides my desk for me to sign papers; "your watch sticks glow bright - its easy to see the time." Yes......she said sticks!!! Simple, innocent comment about what her eyes saw at that moment and that was the end of it.

This, just happen to take place the first day I wore the watch. I didn't even notice it until she said something. but after that, thats all I focused on......... ( @mysterio yes, I look at my watch(s) often especially, if I am wearing a new one - irrespective of wanting to know the time  ) Then, later the next day I notice recent posts on this thread about the same thing so I made a comment. Looking back, I had a feeling of extreme frustration - after all the countless hours I've spent on this forum the last couple months trying to read everything I could and educate myself before I pulled the trigger, then someone like my secretary makes the comment and points out something that I never even thought to consider. just quite comical i guess.....

In any event, now that @mysterio and @granvino educated me that its quite common that Gen(s) luminosity can have different variations, it put my mind at rest. I will also search VAC mod to learn what this is and where I can get it done.
So I’m not trying to be a dick but it sounds like you are really insecure about wearing a rep watch. If an innocent comment by someone who has zero knowledge of watches caused you to think this way what’s going to happen when a paneristi asks you about your Pam?

You are correct.... it’s too nit-picky (considering it’s not real) I admit it but, I’m just being honest with my thoughts. My eyes notice it every time which is multiple times a day considering the line of work I do. I’m Constantly going indoors and outdoors.

The lume is more noticeable on the wrist to everyone not just the watch connoisseur. I’d rather have crystal height a little too high or fat CG or too big crown gap or lugs connecting too high or too low than a complete obvious color lume difference which, even my secretary noticed and made a comment about. :(

I’m still in the adjustment phase of trying to get used to Rep watches and having realistic expectations. I prefer my Noob 111 and can wear that one with more confidence than the XF. Everyone one of us has our own expectations (mine are still in adjustment phase) in wearing a rep and what we choose to tolerate and what we choose not too.
I feel ya. I'm a lume guy and I find it hard to appreciate a watch with weak or poorly applied lume. I think the sandwich dials probably do a better job with the lume matching.

You can have your sausage dial relumed by strodda and that will solve the problem.

Due to the fact the lume dial and hands have obvious luminosity differences I am insecure? I know my writing skills aren't the best but thats your take away from my previous comments???

It has nothing to do with who brought the flaw to my attention, it has to do with the actual flaw itself! Now I am aware of it, I see it and I can't unsee it! It bothers me personally regardless of this being a rep or not. Others may think I'm silly and nit-picky and thats fine! I will search out some possible solutions!

We all have our own rep flaw tolerances, whether it be minuscule or dead obvious! But to say I'm insecure because you or anyone else thinks luminosity variances is minuscule and foolish is presumptuous.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! :) something else to note; the pictures that have been posted here don't do it justice. Its worse (at least mine is) in person that the pictures in this thread. My hand(s) lume brightness significantly, outlast the dial lume!

I also presume then that you are the type of person who feels that all genuine watches are perfect, and that it’s simply not possible for there to be any errors or flaws on a genuine watch? Sorry to disappoint you but gen watches have plenty of QC flaws. Nothing built by man will ever be perfect, but hey if it bothers you... sell the watch.
I don’t believe for a minute that having it relumed will solve your issues. Your insecurity about being “called out” on your $200 rep is obvious, whether you are willing to admit it or not.

You do realize that the hands and dial have different amounts of lume based on the size and shape of the marker. One will last longer because it has a larger lume area. Just because the hands or marker fade at different rates does not make it a flaw. I have gen watches that fade at different rates.

Maybe I've been lucky with my Gens. I'm 100% happy and they have no issues or flaws to my eyes. And yes, I know Gens have QC flaws! You keep bringing up the cost of the rep or being called out. Maybe its not me with the insecurity ? I don't give a flying rats arss if it was a $20,000 Gen, id still be saying the same thing and want it fixed.

I apologize to everyone else for getting off topic. I won't comment further about the lume. Everything else about the watch is magnificent - anyone on the fence and lume not really important then don't hesitate. XF PAM 000 is a good buy. You will be very happy!

Maybe its not me with the insecurity?

This is the most insecure response to what I have said in this thread. But I digress....You started this entire conversation by saying you freaked out when your secretary said your watch sticks were glowing. That sounds like insecurity.... insecure about your rep watch and that you are worried someone else is going to notice it’s fake.
Did you tell her it’s a fake watch?
Or did you hide your wrist for the rest of the day so that she couldn’t see your glowing sticks again?

I’m loving mine. I think the lume thing is something that I could easily fix, if it bothered me as much as some of these folks. I’ve got nothing but compliments on it. Obviously, the small percentage of people who are lume experts might see a difference, but all in all, I think it’s worth the price. You guys will love it!

On a side note, I will say that the lume on my Tudor BB red shield is excellent, and the longest lasting vibrancy out off all that I’ve acquired.

Chill guys :drinks_cheers: Don't want to have this thread locked [emoji4]

The whole point of rep is to produce the rep as close to the gen item as possible. As PAMaholic put it the rep should be compared to the gen. Gens do have QC issues as well. But MOST of the time the variations are just that: a variation. They are to be considered as exceptions. Reps nowadays are pretty consistent and this consistency extends to the inaccuracies as well. However, there are mod options that bring the rep closer to the gen. So dont let the OOTB be an end to your experience if the inaccuracies bother you a lot.

Coming back to the lume on this Zero: it is weak especially the markers on the dial. The lume on the hands last much longer than that on the dial. Does it bother me that the lume is weak and has variations? NO. Does it bother me that it is less accurate than the gen? Maybe ... but not enough to bother me to give up on it or having it sent in for mods yet. Perhaps I have been conditioned over the years by all kinds of lume and variations:

Speedy with tritium markers and luminova hands:

Datejust with tritium hands which lume no longer:

MM300 with lumibrite which still shines just as bright as day one eons ago:

Well regardless of lume difference and varying opinions of it's importance I have ordered this XF 000.

The 000 is one that I have wanted for years and first compromised by getting a 112 as the 000 wasn't available at the time but I missed that logo so sold it on then bought a 111 again as there was no decent 000 available but I'm really not that big of a fan of the tiny second hand sub-dial so that will be on M2M shortly so hopefully I will finaly get my 000 and my quest will be over.

I was looking at seikos and I want a rep of this

There is no OOTB rep as far as I know. There are so-called "homages" branded under Merkur and Sharkey. I believe they are made by the same factory. If you do get one and mod it with gen parts, let us know.
