I think the consensus is the midcase is a PPF base with some minor mods rather than a custom CNC base. But generally, yes the OME is a good value for the mods + moon disk + dial. Some like the SW dial more.
Correct for certain model years, but older 5712 had small 5 and 7 dots.
Sw is just closer to gen. Some dont like it that it’s a bit greenish but gen is the same. Honestly it’s so minimal it doesn’t really matter which one you get you wont be able to tell if you don’t compare it with a physical watch next to you

Yeah but ome doesnt have a “cnc midcase”, well it is cnc but its stock ppf construction.
we don’t know if its the stock one modified or a custom new one but it doesn’t matter or make it worse. It has all the right engravings and edges like all the other custom midcases
The odds of “omf” making a whole new cnc case and leaving it be the same construction and thickness as ppf are low. Likely sourced from the same place as ppf. The engravings are nice but you will never see them. The case shape looks the same really.. And the main issu is the thickness which remains the same as ppf. If youre putting a SW dial, its a waste of money to get OME

That's odd. The gold 5712 cases in the picture do look fairly different. I don't think the difference is noticeable in the pics of steel cases I've seen. You be the judge:
It looks the same because ppf did copy it well, there is no real flaw on the stock midcase just the edges which ome fixed, stock ppf is also the same thickness as gen in some cases 0.1-0.3mm thicker which you wont ever notice, im sure gen also aren’t exactly the same size either. Ofc the upgrade to sw dial is objective.
Its your money. Im just saying the facts of the matter. OME doesnt have any real benefits over ppf if your goal is to replace the dial, hands, moonphase with sw. Its cheaper to buy a stock ppf and do those upgrades. OME is good if you want to keep it mostly as is, maybe fix the pinions.
