Quick question I have about the regulation mechanism on the 240 clone mvt: where's the second regulator pin for adjusting the beat error?

I only see one regulator pin which I presume is for the rate. Plus there is this protrusion with two small screws on it and I'm not sure what that is for. I guess it could be some sort of beat error regulator but I've never seen anything like that before and want to verify before I go around tinkering with stuff.
it's him for the beat error, but I honestly advise you not to touch him

Why? Is it particularly fragile? Also why 2 screws instead of just one?
If you're asking that question you probably shouldn't touch it. It's made to look like the freesprung balance of the gen with those details. It won't be easy to get parts if you break any of that, I'd just leave it as is. How bad could the beat error possibly be to bother messing with it?

Fair enough, the beat error on my watch is actually very low (0.2ms) so I'm not intending on tinkering with that; I was just curious about where the other regulator arm was and now I'm curious about how exactly the two screw beat error regulator works so I am still interested in answers to my questions.

Also interested in how the two screws regulate beat error on a freesprung balance wheel - my impression was the little weights on the balance wheel regulate not just the overall rate but if their positioning on opposite sides of the balance wheel is imbalanced then you get beat errors and this is why it's so hard to regulate a freesprung balance (because you have to find just the right level for all the weights such that there is no rate error and also minimal beat error so there's a huge amount of trial and error). Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

On a lot of reps, the second regulator arm is just hidden under the aesthetic free sprung balance arm. I'm not sure how it's done on this particular one, haven't opened one up. There are no weights on these balance wheels, because these are not actually free sprung. Most likely you adjust the rate via the exposed arm, which should be the regulator arm.

That's right, basically the bit error correction python is not hidden underneath but the one for the beat error adjustment but you have to be very careful because the spiral is connected there.

Finally my 0.001mm accurate micrometer arrived. The exact thickness of my OME watch is 8.932mm with crystal and 8.575mm without crystal. If the 8.52mm gen thickness is without crystal then it is basically exact (0.05mm difference).

Is this thickness achieved by the stock OME watch without modification?

Other than the video provided in this thread of an "updated" OME with large jewel and cutout, I don't think anyone has actually received a watch with these updates from OME. Unless proven otherwise, I assume that these updates never existed.

I am beginning to think that myself. It would be too good an update otherwise. I spoke to the guy who made that video; and after all that rambling of how good OME is he told me PPF is the way to go?!! I was like WTF!! That the guys who runs the channel on billibili

I bought it like 2 weeks ago with pinion cap mods and sw dial which took 2 weeks to do from popup
I ordered the OME with pinion cap fix from popup a month ago. Even though it's been a month, I haven't received any QR pics, even from the unmodified watch. When I ask for status updates, the response has come within 24 hours, I assume from the new assistant popup hired. However, they are definitely not proactive in explaining where things stand...whether the OME watch was ordered or received, or the status of the pinion mods. I was told there was a delay in getting the OME watch, but obviously @poseidon ordered after me and had the watch finished before me.

I asked for an update yesterday, and today I received a message that the watch will be done soon and on its way, which is odd since again I have not received any QR pics. This is different from my previous order with popup, where he sent pics before modding the watch, gave updates, and then QR pics once the project was completed. So fingers crossed that everything is completed soon and the recent tariff situation won't cause a problem, but things seem a bit hit and miss at this point.

Oh you won't believe what happened to me with popup. I had the exact same issue like you. No photos of the watch before modding and no in process photos or anything. Made me wait 3 months and then suddenly said the watch is ready. And sent me a couple of photos.

When I received the watch, I paid nearly $1500, the bracelet broke and the date wheel is asymmetric and titled!! Fuck me so disappointed. This is a Rolex DD40.

I had a similar experience with a modded 5711 I bought from him. His prices are better than most, unless you go the wechat/whatsapp route, but his attention to detail seems lacking. It keeps me from purchasing anything too expensive from him.

When and if I get the OME 5712, I'll write a review.

Do you mind sharing who this dealer was? If you prefer just private message me. Sorry I meant the day wheel (calender wheel) was tiled.

Any good WeChat modders you are aware of??
