I have the suppaparts one.
The eBay link above is the Canadian guy you probably bought from.
For the price you can't go wrong with either.
One day perhaps I will get a gen Omega mesh :)

I found out there are 2 different gen mesh straps.
Both seen here:
http://www.ofrei.com/page1280.html

One is $270 the other is well over $900 with the clasp.
When its time, I will go with the $270 version with the "airplane buckle", $900+ is a bit much.

Welcome to RWI..>>>>>

Hello from Russia!
I'm new here but I have just completed the payment for the ultimate ploprof v2 :))
So here is my litle conribution, if somebody likes it, you can use it for yourself ;)

Here it is:
I haven't seen a lot of posts from our Russian brothers, but it's good to know you're with us!!
Perhaps once the "Ploprof Club" becomes more established, one of you more "tech savvy" guys could produce a world map showing our locations...???

Yeah thats where I was looking for the gen mesh.
The site is a pig to navigate though :(
That is a huge difference in price, I guess one is the 'official' Ploprof mesh.

Yeah, that site...use the control+F and search "mesh" and "ploprof", it makes it much quicker

The $900 one is the CURRENT Ploprof mesh, the $270 one was on the older "vintage" Ploprof, so its considered NOS (new old stock).

well...Mine arrived from Josh today..>>>

Shipped 4/13 from Gz....
I'm delighted at the overall quality of the package...@ $148.00, it's an excellent value!!...And I'm glad I waited around a few months instead of jumping right on one last summer!!
I ordered the orange strap, and it is well made, but the V1 clasp is a bit dodgy!!
After a couple of hours wearing the orange, I decided that it wasn't as comfortable as I wanted, so I played around with some of the stuff I had laying around...I settled, at least for now, on a very supple black rubber"Military" generic that I bought a few yrs ago from Modena Watch...(http://www.modenawatch.com/)
IMG_2088.jpg

It has an idiot proof unmarked single deployant clasp in stainless steel, and is extremely comfortable, unlike the orange rubber one, which rides on the watch at a very uncomfortable angle for my 8.75" gorilla wrist.
Here's the bligatory "wristie":
IMG_2094.jpg

BTW, I've been wearing and playing with it for @ 4 hours, and the timing has been constant to the second !!

If I like the Plo as much as I think I am going to like it, its going to PBdad for $250+ worth of service and lume. So a $270 bracelet isn't much compared to the $600+ I will have into the watch.

But who knows, I may like the suppaparts mesh and just keep it on that.

Superb!
The strap is not as flashy as the orange rubber, but has that 70's look that is so very ploprof...

Is the orange bezel unlock thingy functional? (if it is, that watch really is a steal!! ;) )

Does anyone know what the difference between the rep rubber strap and a gen? Is the gen softer? Doesn't seem like anyone here has ever bought the gen strap yet.

The case is excellent, with serial #, and the bezel insert is the more desirable V-1 config.
And it appears that the dreaded 2 piece crystal is history too, with nice colorless A/R.
This 21j (very smooth sweep!!)"ver 1.5" is, IMNSFHO a great buy, if a bezel lock, and a 2 piece caseback aren't critical to you.

The bezel lock is rather critical point, for me...
But still, that one version is great apart from that, and dead cheap, too...
So, I'm not clear yet which version I'll get. Asian ETA clone or 21j... I'd have chosen 21j without any hesitation if the lock had worked. I'm sure people seeing that stuff want to know what it is/does... And if it just sits there, useless, well, that screams "rep" !!

Then again, maybe not... might be re-named a "He-valve control" or something for the guys who don't know better... The others, well they probably have guessed that it's a rep already ;)

And that lume and bezel numbers look fairly great, too... Arrrrgghhhh....

Well, let's wait for 2 or 3 months. Then I'll be clear about the model I want... I guess ;)

In the unlikely case that anyone ever asks..>>>>

I'll simply explain that it is used as a bezel lock, then push it down and turn the bezel.....But I'm not really worried.....99.99% of the folks I know don't even KNOW what a BEZEL is !!!

So it can be pushed down? it's disconnected from bezel but not just an inert piece of metal? That's great news to me!

It can be pushed down...it's spring-loaded so it can be pushed and pops back up, but it doesn't lock the bezel in place (or have anything to do with anything, really)
