I am just before placing an order for V2 Ploprof and I have two questions:

- black or orange strap...? Can Anyone with both straps suggest? Or maybe both?
- Swiss eta 2834 or Asian 2836 clone? $50 price difference... I used to buy only reps with Swiss movements (except a7750) and never had any problems. Can we say the same about Asian clones of 2836?

I have already ordered mesh from suppaparts :)

"real Swiss" movements are now mythology!! >>>

So paying for one could be considered a tax deduction as a religious contribution!!

Dont really think that swiss movement which will probably be refurbrished is worth money ;)
As for the strap - tastes are different :) I even don't like the mesh and think that there is nothing as beautiful as the orange strap... I mean for ploprof for sure ;)

I could have posted exactly the same thing, had I arrived in time!!!
Mesh has some advantages, though, I think, notably in terms of how much more comfortable it is supposed to be!

I'm weird, if there is a 'swiss' version of anything (excluding 7750/7753) I get it. I just like to have 'the best' that's available.

As far as strap, I think the orange and white are too flashy, so I opted for the black rubber on my white PLO.

But you can't compare the rubber to the mesh. IMO, the mesh makes the watch. And the mesh is far more comfortable than the rubber. Once again, these are my opinions.

I bet the mesh is comfortable as hell but I don't think I could wear it.

Well, i used to do the same - by buying the most expensive version and believing that if they sort quality somehow (best dials, best cases....) the best parts are going to be with their most expensive offering. I decided to go with v2 Swiss and orange. Since the mesh is on its way - orange strap will be for that 'flashy' summer mode ;)

Thank You all for replies.

Hey man, to each his own, especially in this hobby. I see photos of the orange rub and I like it a lot, but I personally would not rock it.

After wearing my plo for the last 48 hours, I will honestly say this is a 100% keeper and going to be almost a daily this summer. Looking at it it doesn't look like it would be comfortable, but the case shape and the mesh make it as comfortable as my Panerais. I really need to suck it up and send it out to get some crazy lume and a sure waterproofing but dont want to part with it for 3 weeks or spend multiple hundred dollars, but will be worth it in the long run for sure.

If she's really a keeper, then a few weeks and a couple hundred is nothing compared to the years and years of enjoyment you'll get! It does suck to be without for that long, but it'll be that much nicer when she comes back!

Looks great! First thing you need to do when you get it is fix the clasp with some stronger springs.

I think you will love it! I saw a guy with the black Plo and orange rubber on lastnight at dinner. Like I said, it looks amazing, I just personally wouldn't wear it.

Now that Swiss is in such short supply it is NOT the best option, unless you find a dealer that's willing to take macro movement pics to prove that you're getting a new swiss movement. Robert is the only dealer I'd buy a Swiss movement from. Better a new asian clone than a refurbished swiss filled with dirt, grit, and clone parts.
That is, unless you're willing to send it out and get it serviced as soon as you get it.

Just my .02

I saw the thread on fixing the Clasp but "language issue" as I'm french ..
I did not understand how to do it and what to do ... so if you can help me with that mod I 'll be happy :)
