I saw the thread on fixing the Clasp but "language issue" as I'm french ..
I did not understand how to do it and what to do ... so if you can help me with that mod I 'll be happy :)
Thx

I hope it's made things easier for the French speaking comunity ;)

Edit: beaten by Josh on the second possible fix! Or is it the third? The place where to use the bic lighter springs is here
8.jpg

Apparently, all the dremelling and metal works explained in the thread Josh quotes is not required if you simply replace those weakish springs by those found in lighters...

Yeah try the springs from the lighters first I wish I would have gone that route in the first place. But had no lighter springs laying around so I used the dremel and it still does not work perfect but it is much better than before.

OK maybe I'm an idiot...how do I get the microadjuster out of the clasp? I'm pushing it down and it comes out to the strap-changing positon but no further...V1 clasp BTW...

Robb, you're going to have to help me get a good cheap version of this. The fact that you dig it so much makes me want to try it... plus it might lead to a gen purchase. I need a BA water resistant diver for when I move to Hawaii. ;)

The spring fix is only for V2 I believe because I dont think the V1 clasps come apart :(

I love it because it's heavy....the heaviest I own actually. Plus the stock rubber is big enough to accommodate even your bear wrists! I'll shoot you a pm after my lunch break

Thanks, they all seem to be the same price so I'm assuming this is a "Cartel only" watch? In that case I may just opt for the V1 DG movement for $148. This is intended to be a summer beater watch anyway so I'm not sure I want to drop that much cash and then go jump in a lake with it. Unless someone has a used one they want to unload ;)

Yes, I noticed everyone has roughly the same price, so its basically who you feel more comfortable dealing with.
Be careful just jumping in any water with any watch directly from the dealers, as a lot of them are not really waterproofed, i've learned the hard way a few times. Its worth it to get it in the hands of a watchsmith and have them make sure its water tight and have them do a water test on it.

Also, the V1 has some draw backs. The bezel lock does not function like gen and the clasp is not the same as V2. The V2 has the divers extension and the adjustment that is removable and fixable. And im not sure if its still a problem, but the V1 crystal was garbage. OH and I think the V1 is a solid one piece caseback, the V2 is a 2 piece caseback.

BUT if its just for a summer beater, then go with the V1, but if you plan on keeping it, i'd go with a V2, hell I'd go with the 21J V2 over a asian eta V1. Just my opinion.

Funny you asked I ended up selling it to one of my good friends for what I paid for it. I really didn't like it that much to be honest I thought it was going to be a bit bigger and I really had a hard time seeing the time on it. He ended up taking it to costland mall in naples to get it sized they charged him 30$!!! I laughed at him.

Hey guys..

Need some help here. Not really into Omega's (let the bashing begin), actually more of a PAM man, but there is something about this watch that made me go I HAVE TO HAVE THAT IF THEY EVER REP IT the moment I saw the Proprof 600....and when I saw the job they did with the V1, I was pretty sure about the next step. But I delayed for some reason and anyhow it seems like a good thing I waited a bit because the V2 seems to iron out the sticky issues with the V1...well except the lumed bezel.

Now I would really like to get the V2. Only thing, my wrists are 6.25 inches. I think I can pull off the 44mm PAMs ok, but the dimensions on the Ploprof are giving me doubts on a wrist as small as mine...the 18mm height really freaks me out, actually.

So...anyone got any pics on a small wrist or has seen someone with one....and what do you recommend...go or no go?

Thanks

If you can wear a 44mm PAM confidently, you'll be fine. The Ploprof wears a bit smaller across the face because the dial is much smaller than a PAM. All the size comes from the crown guard and the bezel lock. The thickness isn't as bad as you think, either. It's thicker than a PAM, but not as big of a difference than the measurements suggest. Figure it's about as thick from case bottom to outer crystal as the PAM is from the bottom-most point on the lugs to the outer crystal....maybe 1 or 2mm more. No big deal. Here's a comparison on my wrist...a bit bigger than yours at 6.75", but still on the smaller side:

As you can see, taking the CG's into account the Ploprof is only a bit bigger than the PAM across the face, and the PAM looks bigger on the wrist because of that comparatively huge dial. Really it comes down to the bezel lock part of the Ploprof that decides that it's only a bit bigger (visually at least) than the PAM.

Thanks.. as thick as the PAM is from the bottom-most point on the lugs to the outer crystal...seems manageable.

I didn't notice it before until I saw your pics, but if you don't consider the asymmetrical case of the Ploprof, the PAM looks bloody humongous when you compare the dials.

IMO that's where the "size" of a watch comes from, visually, is the dial. All that open space and the longer hands needed make all the difference. The Ploprof dial with bezel is only a hair bigger than the PAM with just the dial.

Im a HUGE Panerai and Breitling fan and I also have a small wrist, 6.5". I went into an Omega dealer and tried a Ploprof on and fell in love. Its really does fit smaller than you would think. Its really REALLY really comfortable on the mesh. It is a little thicker and heavier than usual but it really wears perfect. And honestly, all i've been wearing the past few years is Panerai and Breitling, well since I got the mesh on this Plo I haven't taken it off. It gets more compliments than any other watch I've worn. Crazy! (mine is white)

I wonder how one of these would look if it was sent to avitt

I bet that would love FANTASTIC, and have him DLC the mesh and clasp too!
Too bad I dislike DLC/PVD watches or I might be inclined to buy a black dial and have Avvit go to town.
