My watch's primary function is not to tell me what time it is. The human brain has two sectors which are capable of tracking time. The hippocampus and the Straitum. Combined they are capable of tracking time even in our sleep. I know within 2 or 3 minutes what time it is any time of day. If i awake from my sleep at night, without reference to a time keeping device of any kind I will within a minute know what time it is within an accuracy of 5 minutes.
The primary function of my watch is to accompany me through the medium of time, throughout my waking hours, in an analogue form, mimicking the true passage of time experienced in our consciousness. No device deriving it's power from anything other than the winding of a spring, can emulate the true nature of time passage in a way I would find satisfying.
