As the "@" stands for "at" I'd like to point out that I am not "at Variatio Delectat".

Having said that, Jean Claude is CEO from one company, as I am from another. And he clearly is entitled to have an opinion which is different from mine. ;)

Even non CEOs can have their own opinions. heck, common citizens, or even refugees can. :(

Ok i understand you are having a bad day. And possibly don't know what @ in this forum means.

I repeat my opinion and that of people much more citation worthy than me : nobody in 2017 buys a watch to be able to know time within cosc certification.

Have a good day

I am just referring to what the @ stands for in fact. I am well aware it is quite often used utterly wrong, however that does not make it more appropriate, even in this (or any other) forum. That may sound nitpicking for you, but that's just the way it is.

Well, now that you mention cosc certification (what you did not before) it's a more specific opinion, but that doesn't change the fact it's still an opinion and always have been proven wrong even within the past few postings. ;)

Have a good day

Thanks, I'll do my very best. Same to you.

My watch's primary function is not to tell me what time it is. The human brain has two sectors which are capable of tracking time. The hippocampus and the Straitum. Combined they are capable of tracking time even in our sleep. I know within 2 or 3 minutes what time it is any time of day. If i awake from my sleep at night, without reference to a time keeping device of any kind I will within a minute know what time it is within an accuracy of 5 minutes.

The primary function of my watch is to accompany me through the medium of time, throughout my waking hours, in an analogue form, mimicking the true passage of time experienced in our consciousness. No device deriving it's power from anything other than the winding of a spring, can emulate the true nature of time passage in a way I would find satisfying.

Well said. :applause:

However, regarding your signature "You don't buy a Ferrari because you are in a hurry and you don't buy a great watch, because you need to know the time" this is obviously only half the truth. It is true as well that you do not buy a Ferrari if it is not able to run fast and you do not buy a great watch if it is not able to show the time correctly. ;)

Maybe, but accuracy beyond my own ability to judge the passage of time is in my view superfluous.

A Ferrari can run fast and that's great, but it has nothing to do with needing to get somewhere fast. Equally the great watch can be accurate, but it has nothing to do with needing it to tell you the time.

Are you sure the Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre deserves its place as super rep in this top 30?

The crown should be polished, but yes, absolutely.

Why are you wondering?

I would agree that most Pams are not worth buying in Gen, whereas many other makers have a lot of watches worth buying in Gen

:popcorn2:
Was in a dinner party and a guy wearing a gen Pam could not or did not want to believe my Pam 177 ( I think ) Titanium tobacco dial was a rep. I don't even believe that's a super rep but the guy thought I was pulling his leg and started to get annoyed that I was insisting mine was a rep.

Be careful! Gen Pam owners are dangerously in denial about how good the Reps are, some of them are armed and there have been reports of violence !

Lol, I think they are almost in denial and perhaps annoyed that the reps are so close to what's on their wrist for a lot lot less than what they payed. This guy was actually fuming when I kept denying mine was a gen.

I never declare my Reps as Gen. But I make an exception with Pam owners. I just say I bought it from a watch dealer.
Once one guy said " Grey dealer ? "

I said " Not really but he went grey when I told him how little I wanted to pay with all the great reps around"

Can't resist rubbing it in a bit

Lol, I think I'll keep that in mind, might be a safer option although I hate passing off my reps as Gen's. Mighty tempted to rub it in though on the Pam guys [emoji3]
