The Breitling Avenger Seawolf DLC 44 mm rep is definitely a super rep for sure. Only error of the rep as of now from its gen Breitling Avenger Blackbird 44 mm is the case back color is slightly off (metal tinge is a bit yellowier) and the "C" on certifie is a "G" but the rep maker is in the process of fixing this.

Also the rep is utilizing a Asian 2824 which is pretty good since the gen uses a Breitling Caliber 17 which essentially is just a modified Eta 2824-2.

Lastly it appears the weight of the rep is pretty close to gen as somebody said the rep with strap comes in at around 90 to 100 grams and the gen (without the strap) comes in at 73 grams since its a full titanium case with DLC coating.

Its this one in the link btw:

True and for once they did not mess up the strap!

What do you guys think of the newly released Rolex DayDate 40mm by BP?

Quite good in terms of the look. But the orginal DD40 are made out of platinum/gold and the reps are steel so there's quite a big weight issue. The rep feels half the weight of the original. Also the TDs are shipping them with "swiss" eta movements lol.

This list should be added to the original post so it's more easily found timnic54

Such a useful thread. Thank you everyone for your efforts

I just bought a gold one with silver dial. Its beautiful on the wrist. The movement is a Swiss 2834-2 as I checked. In looking at the Instagram pics and eBay pics, the rep is spot on except for very minor differences in day and date fonts that no human without a careful inspection with a loupe would ever notice. The weight is way off by about half and is quite comfortable because of the 100g difference.

Ok, a gen is a gen, but this one is pretty damn good (it's already on the list, V6f is of same quality)

Sir, you had my interest, now you've got my attention :megusta: Is it actually a new complete swiss eta movement? Because from what I've been told, the "swiss movement" is normally a fraken of sorts, made up of old swiss parts and new chinese parts mashed together. That's why I have always been quite skeptical, and would rather stick to Asian 2824/2836 clones.

I too am really curious about this.... How is it they're still getting ETA movements? Could they actually be Sellita movements?

It is for sure a mishmash of parts but it does work quite well and the power reserve is good. I've had a Day Date II with Asian clone and prefer the Swiss movement. Both make a bit of noise but this "mishmash Swiss" is pretty solid. Hope that helps.

I support adding AP 15400 to the list, few others before me already shared their watches and I believe there is a gen vs rep topic somewhere around here as well with the findings being that they are indistinguishable.

AFAIK there is a substantial difference in thickness, as well as the visible movement being very different.

Correct.

The JF 15400 is an outstanding replica And heck, you can't get a gen SERVICED for what it costs to buy THREE JF Reps!

However... Band is nice but there's sharp edges on it. It doesn't articulate as well as gen, dial is off up close and movement not even close TBH. However it's good.. the Diver V7 is astonishing however.

Definitely worth it - there will always be a chip on your shoulder, you knowing that it's not the real deal. I'm all for reps, but it's a personal thing

Yes no date, so no date issues, no cyclops issues, as a rep that must put it in front.
It is also the much clearer look, but that's my personal opinion.

But I'd like to discuss for beeing on this list, does the V7 with the greyish bezel-insert really fits in here?

Don't get me wrong, I really like to wear my V7 no-date on a weekly basis but....
In comparison the Tudor Black Bay, which I have in Burgundy as gen, is the much better rep and really that accurate I had difficulties finding differences (I must say it's kinda hard to justify owning one as a gen). But I think we agree on this.

What I want to say is, if we take the Tudor BB as a benchmark, I don't think Noob's Sub V7 would make it onto this list.
And maybe some others too...

I know, I haven't been that long into the rep game as others and there has been times, where reps weren't that accurate by far, but despite liking the V7 a lot myself, I really have a hard time seeing it on this list compared to the accuracy of the Tudor BB or some PAMs.

Oh, that explains, thanks.

Funny how the red ones have gold hands but the blue ones have white hands.
For the black ones there is a version with white hands and one with gold hands which I find absolutely beautiful.
