AP is getting a bad name with their movements of late. Seems most ADs and dealers I talk to know about recent AP movement issues. My friend is waiting already 4 months on a brand new royal oak to be fixed.

Many manufacturers, not only AP have rested too long on their laurels and need to shape up.

Hi Everyone, I made a quick chart of all the watches, the genuine price, replica price, premium, and functions.

Feel free to copy, use this graph, create a google docs spreadsheet, or do whatever you want. Hope this helps the community!

Remember when this type of thing was what this thread was about? It sure was a nice, useful thread back then, before it got hijacked into the b.s.ing about the pros and cons of owning them instead.

It still IS a very useful thread and pro/cons discussions and experiences deliver the idea of this thread quite right why some watches aren't just "worth" buying in gen.

Anyways...so should we put the BP Datejust II on the list, or not?

Surely people discussing their experience owning watches is pertinent to the subject matter of the thread.

Yeah lets get back on track (no seriously, I forgot I was gonna ask a question a few days ago thabks to the heated discussion)

Is it true that the Tudor black bay (red and blue) reps still use mineral crystal? Wouldn't that make it a bad rep?

I'm looking into getting a black bay, the V4 is sapphire, V2 which is still available is mineral crystal from what I gather.

Oh, that explains, thanks.

Funny how the red ones have gold hands but the blue ones have white hands.

I know, from memory the dial is also different, I think the blue has a black dial and the red an almost brown/burgundy colour to it.

I'm stuck for choice. I prefer the red but I like the dial/hands more on the blue.

I could see the new noob EXP II with correct hand stack and hour hand function making it onto this list, should be available very soon.

What do you guys think of the newly released Rolex DayDate 40mm by BP?

Watch looks spot on. I had a Day Date II for years and loved it. Only problem is the weight so don't let a gen Rolex owner handle it as they will know the difference.

This post is great, I think we have all wondered this. I have 2 realistic dream watches I one day want to own in gen but in the short term great reps will have to do :) 1 gen down though lol.

I also think that this is one of the best threads on RWI. Maybe could it be considered for a sticky? Mods?

The Breitling Avenger Seawolf DLC 44 mm rep is definitely a super rep for sure. Only error of the rep as of now from its gen Breitling Avenger Blackbird 44 mm is the case back color is slightly off (metal tinge is a bit yellowier) and the "C" on certifie is a "G" but the rep maker is in the process of fixing this.

Also the rep is utilizing a Asian 2824 which is pretty good since the gen uses a Breitling Caliber 17 which essentially is just a modified Eta 2824-2.

Lastly it appears the weight of the rep is pretty close to gen as somebody said the rep with strap comes in at around 90 to 100 grams and the gen (without the strap) comes in at 73 grams since its a full titanium case with DLC coating.

Its this one in the link btw:
