No i dont trash them but I know a lot of inside Information about them and I can say they almost spend 80% on paying celebrities to wear it. Even AP is not spending that much on PR. And like i said you can go here in the town and almost everyone wears a gen or a fake one so i like the design but when you see it every day, you see it to often.

Lets be honest, you like the name and not the design. The only reason you like the design, is because it's a Rolex, as otherwise there are plenty of other homeage models you could wear with the same design- But you want the brand name on your wrist, so you buy a rep..

if the rep has the 28kbph movement, ill buy that, but ive found gen ETA movements are much more reliable and last longer than their asian counterparts. If im making a watch from the ground up, ill go gen ETA as well. The majority of my movement swaps are on cheap reps that i put blank dials on with ETA movements, or buying everything separate and building it from scratch.
Takes time, patience and a little skill to do it all correct. I have an ETA 2892, eta 7750 and a couple older 2824s that are non working now because of screw ups on my part, and/or losing those tiny little screws that just disappear into thin air.
you can buy a blank "homage" that is almost exactly like the reps except it doesnt rolex if you dont care about the name. Can even swap in gen parts, but keep the blank dial since the name doesnt matter. Parnis is a great example of these, but there are tons out there online. And the little details that make the noob great, as well as many reps, are the identifying markers on the watch. If it was a blank watch, no one would care how close to a rolex it was, because it wasnt trying to copy the rolex. Im currently building a Panerai style watch with blank dials and cases and straps because I like the style, not the name.
Lets be honest here though, the reason we are buying reps are for the name. There are plenty of gen watches, that do everything the reps can do, and have the same/similar styling as the reps, that cost just the same as the reps.

No i had a parnis ones they are cheap canal Street trash only the higher priced models are better with parnis on the dial and waterproof to 200 m. And no most of the homages are just pure shit because I had plenty of them. Only Steinhart comes close to noob but the ceramic is just the worst i've ever seen. Davosa and Christopher ward are good too but not really Submariner Style.
Thats the reason why i joined the repgame because the quality of the homagewatches are not as good as the replicas (i'm not paying 800 € for the same case and style and finish). So no homagewatches are not as great as the reps and like i said i have plenty of them (check my collection thread here in the forum).

So you would buy the reps if they left out the brand names on the dial? Seeing as you are probably going to say yes just to stick with your point I'm just going to call BS on that right away

im willing to bet you can buy the reps with blank dials as well.
As for Parnis, I have/had quite a few of their homage watches (BB, PO, Sub, Marina Militaire) and yeah, if you cheap out and get the cheap ones, they suck, as does any watch that you cheap out on. The higher end ones with sapphire glass and better movements, also have better straps/bracelets and are overall, a nice watch

Yeah thats the reason why I have a parnis one in Omega seamaster Style because its BS.So you would buy the reps if they left out the brand names on the dial? Seeing as you are probably going to say yes just to stick with your point I'm just going to call BS on that right away

The first one, the ceramic bezel was totaly destroyed after a week (i had not wearing it, it was only in my watch case) the second one the whole bracelet fall apart. I both returned to Amazon.

Very nice build! but the ceramic was cheap as hell (i had hairsplits after 2 weeks) so no Parnis for me.

Not sure what you are doing to them. The ones I have take a regular beating and have no issues. They are my "work" watches that I wear when I know I am going to be banging them around. But I also bought directly from Parnis and not amazon. Maybe amazon gets bad stock.

3 The point of buying a replica is that it be accurate. It cant be accurate with a blank dial. the logo and name are part of the design.
I buy watches, Rep and Gen for me and no-one else. Everyone who knows me already knows I can buy pretty much anything I want and they don't care about that either.
It would be terribly sad to live your life to appease people you don't even like , who don't even care.

Perhaps because a Submariner flies so low under the radar in terms of its design. The only people that noticed are friends + family, but it still takes them a while and they don't even care to ask what watch it is - most people just don't care and that's fine with me. I've gotten more comments on a gold casio than on this one
Would you at least agree that you care your rep says 'Rolex' because you want to pretend (to yourself or others) that it's real, or would you buy the rep quality but instead of having printed "Rolex Submariner", it would say "Folex Submarine"?

On the other hand, you could also wear a Swiss Gigandet or a German Dugena for example and people will think you are wearing a Rolex because they just don't know or care either....they just recognize the design.

Truthfully absolutely no pretence to myself or especially anyone else ( absolutely no one ever comments on my watches, not even my wife)
The whole point is that they are reps, the more faithful the better.
For example. I have three BB FFs Two of them are gen. I wear the noob rep mostly, it ismuch more fun than wearing the gen. The fun is that it is a rep. I know it's a rep, but it looks just like the gen. That's the kick, no pretence at all.
If a watch said Blancping or Folex, that would just feel stupid.
Although I would love to have a Cartier with a custom dial saying C*ntier! That would be a hoot!
Years ago I had one of those Red dial red bezel Subs marked Colamariner. That was fun, but still no one noticed.
