early geneva flaw clasp, my favorite.
edit: post pic in a second, it's freaking hugE!!!
no pic needed
"gene va" is the good one.
congrats!!!
i pushed plastic toothpicks together with the 1,8mm springbar in the SEL-springbar-hole from both sides.
putting the toothpick down and towards the watchcase to have the smaller springbar positioned as needed. broke the toothpicks after they come tight.
now i still have a little play, but this time due to the holes in the lug that are too big now. will try to fix that with tape some day. but for now im very satisfied with the result. will see how long it will last.
had broke my arm, so not really able to fiddle around anymore at the moment.
heres a pic:
Hi guys,
After reading this thread, I spent the better part of today fiddling around with my noob v7 A2836 and some common aluminum foil from the kitchen.
I pleated the foil 4 times (i.e. 8 layers) and cut out a curve (more like a half-pipe shape) from the pleated pice of aluminum foil. Then I placed the cut-out on the small case-step between the lugs (watch lays on table face down). You can use a tiny piece of scotch tape to hold the cut-out in place. Next, I gently pushed down the solid end link while making sure the cut-out does not move away from the small edge/step of the case.
The next part proved to be quite tricky, because I decided to use the standard 2.0mm spring bars. I had to apply a lot of pressure to push the springbars into the lug holes with my bergeon springbar tool. The springbar will always slide into the first hole easily, but getting the other side of the springbar into the second lug hole is not easy at all. To be honest, I had to take a walk after failing for like 1 hour.
I think the end result is quite satisfactory:
I understand and i find your solution quite interestig. Can you post a pic of a bent SEL?Looks nice - good job!
Hint from my side - if it will not last long, you could just try to press the plain bottom side of the SEL down.
Have done it several times in case the SEL is too high with different Rep-bracelets. I´m using my glass press for this,
but you should do it carefully because the result is final also ensure not to buckle the material too much, better do it
step by step. you can use rubber between the press and the endlink to reduce pressure mark.
Grüße aus Stuttgart
Alex
Nice! I also wanted to keep the original thick springbars but failed to make them slide into the lug holes.

I get it. Did you bend only the ends of the springbar?Hi Andrei01,
I slightly pre-bent the 2.0mm springbars and pushed them back into the SEL in a specific angle. Make sure the springbar is positioned in a way, so that it will be automatically closer to the lug hole(s). It is not easy to explain but I think you understand what I am trying to say, right?
Here is a picture of my noob v7 from QC (Intime.co). Just to give you an idea of what kind of improvement you can expect to achieve. It is not much, but I think it is still way better than the flush / un-recessed SEL:

great to see all the v7 getting fixed!
urs is absolutely good enough.
but the recession should be growing by going away from the case.
so urs its some kind of the other way around.
but im just little hair splitting here. absolutely good enough(to not being called out on that )! congrats.
i hope getting this growing-recession-effect, after applying the plastic mod in addition to my toothpick-thing.
and maybe finding some better things for the job than the plastic dental floss sticks.
@MoD2Franken
thx mate. i would be interested too in seeing some pics of ur mod, cause maybe its hard to achieve on the v7 bracelet due to the play it has. and maybe it would be good to use a screw compressor clamp(german: schraubzwinge)!
Hi pengo,
Thank you for the kind words. I was thinking about using a staple clip from the stabler gun (German: Tackerklammer). The thinner the better because you will have a hard time flattening the staple just by pressing the SEL onto the staple and case . Anyways have a nice weekend. Back to watching Bundesliga football.
I understand and i find your solution quite interestig. Can you post a pic of a bent SEL?
