so the black version now has been updated with a matte finish and not glossy anymore ? i was set on the white dial since i heard the black dial was glossy, but if thats been fixed i may have to think again. anyone have confirmation about this ? i haven't seen or read anything on the forums about this.

There have been quite a few of these sold and I haven't read any threads yet where people posted anything about having a bad experience with the movement in this watch. Most of the posts with problematic with GMT's seem to go back to watches that used the CHS. I would also suggest you get the asian clone version of this watch. The only GMT 28XX series made by ETA is the 2893--which is a completely different movement. Any clone or swiss 2824/36 with a GMT function is modded in china, with a few extra gears and a cp to run a GMT with ICHS. Since that's the case, you may as well get a clone movement.

I did read a few problems in regards of the movement, some couldn't get the GMT to work properly of sort.
Nevertheless after reading this thread, I feel like buying one already. Hope I'm lucky with the movement!

I got the black one just last month. I do not think that it is glossy. When I compare it to pics of the gen it looks the same to me. But I am no expert. I tried taking several pics with different lighting tonight but in the pics it looks glossy to me. But that is not how it appears in person. If anyone can give me some advice on taking a pic of the dial properly let me know and I'll do it. Here are the pics. I think it is an absolutely gorgeous watch. Bright lume, everything is lined up, keeps great time, the bezel is correct. If you guys find flaws please let me know. I have put a pic of mine next to a gen pic on my computer and stared at them for a good amount of time. If any of you have any questions about this watch or want to see any other pics before you buy this one let me know. OK, here's the pics.

I like the white explorer, then you can had pace an SD or sub without overdoing it on black Rollie's.

Mine just landed. Got a sweet clasp, stoked about that. Bracelet is great, but SEL's are a little less sharp on the raised centre part. Case lugs are a little less defined than gen.

As for QC issues: Cyclops is crooked, rehaut engraving is a bit off, crown doesn't screw in to the case enough, lume application is a bit off. All the things than mean modding.......

But overall, what a cracking good rep!

I'm gonna buy a new exp II white and when i receive it, i will put my first one up for sale... need to get a new one, mine has some hairlines on the clasp, and the lume application is really good but not as good as the lastest batch

Amazing watch, for anyone thats debating on purchasing and is hesitating, don't. Ive had the gen and this side by side and it feels no different. Even if asked to take it off and see it, I'm almost certain no one would ever be able to tell its a rep. enjoy it while its available
