Snap! Really is a shame because there are so many interesting avenues they could take the Daytona but as with every recent release they've fell on the tried and tested "make the case slightly larger and small changes nobody asked for" route.

Admittedly I do like some of the changes on the panda but its just the same watch really.... Ironically an hour ago I shown my boss the new Panda (as he was wearing his gen today) and he couldn't spot any of the differences until I pointed them out. I guess that's how Rolex have established themselves as one of the biggest brands outs there though, evolution vs revolution as they say 🤔
Remember that panda is pretty much 116520 with ceramic and black subdial.

One thing that have bugged me forever is the asymmetrical lugs on SS daytona. Now they are symmetrical, which to me is a major aesthetic update. Dont care much about beefier crown guard, but it goes along with wider lugs.
The metal bezel edge is going to scratch up so quick, negative point.

I think if I had this rep I'd be swapping out the hour markers, haha!

Easy choice for me

Very good point, the symmetrical case is definitely a massive plus!

I'm.with you on the metal bezel edge as well, that thing will be a scratch magnet and I'm not sure if it was really necessary, I've had a few ceramic Daytonas amd never damaged the bezel with pretty regular use, including the odd know here and there, plus I think it just looks weird. Maybe it'll grow on me

Of course they would have to re-release a YG GMT. Eventually like the SS Pepsi it will come with oyster too. CLEAN will be all over this.

A must buy for GMT lovers with the new DD3285. The gold model name on the dial and gold GMT hand are nice touches.

I think this grey is the first color on a GMT I don't like; I'm a bi-color fan, but prefer all black to this grey with gold text. Maybe it's better in person. Gold GMT and dial text are nice, but old accent of green was sweet too.

No comments on the new Sky-Dwellers?? The new blue on the RG model is beautiful. Damn expensive gen though.

They're all shamefully expensive. There's no relation whatsoever.

The grey on the insert looks better on the TT, it complements the SS. Might have to swap in an all black insert to the FG, you have a good point.

Regarding the Skydwellers I don't like the mint green color on any Rolex models, and I think the rep factories don't do it any favors either. I really hate olive green too on the Day-Dates so I was negatively predisposed when the mint greens came out. Just not my thing. The new RG with blue-green dial looks great but like a rainbow Daytona it will be hard to pull off in a rep. Where can you wear it without looking garish?

Damn expensive for sure, the way the calendar is done is very nice though. And using the Bezel to set the functions. Quite intriguing.

Interesting, that the Explorer isn't getting crown guards as the Air King did. The Milgaus is due for an update (all other movements with silicone steel hairspring beat the anti-magnetism rating of a Milgaus). I've come to like the design thoug. Maybe get a rep since gen's will skyrocket. They were becoming more reasonably priced lately, that ship has sailed now. Rumor has it there might be a Milgaus update next year for the anniversary of that model.

Since I don't plan on playing the AD game or paying inflated aftermarket prices, I can stare and maybe get a rep.

New movement 4131 on Daytonas... and the platinum comes with a clear CB indeed ! Evolution or revolution ? 😉

Replica oblivion…
Rolex really put on a yawn fest. It was like playing where’s Wally trying to spot the subtle changes they introduced to existing lineups.
Most of their tool watches now released in precious metals making them even more unobtainable. Celebrities and football players rejoice…
New Motto. Rolex, we make tools for tools.

In saying that, if I had to choose, the new platinum Daytona with the display caseback is the winner. I’d happily donate all my organs for that one.

uhhuh
The price gouging has started already on the discontinued pieces. Saw a couple of John Meyer's sell for over $110k . Pandas back over $40k.
I wonder what would happen to other less hyped pieces though since they are all discontinued.
