Let me guess. LI knows that he won't have any other watches for a few weeks and something has to answer to those who gave him the money a month ago. 😭

They've been telling everyone this for every batch. They are just behind demand. No updates will be made. If so they'll call it V3 and make more bucks.

All speculations now haha..
IMO, it's much better to sit back and relax with the V1 which should be easily available till they sort it out for the V2 ( uprgrade or production increase). The difference between the V1 & V2 is promising but has no wow factor yet to me, so I don't see the reason to pay upfront and having my money stuck for 3+ months to eventually being told I'd need to switch to other watch. The V1 was really long wait too at the beginning but afterwards they became much easier to source

Regarding the possible factory updates here I'm quoting my non TD dealer's opinion:

To my understanding, the prototype 240 movement has stability problem and need to revise design, it is still developing. The current 240 movement design is sold to an individual and he is making 5712 on his own. That’s why you may see some few 5712 come out sometime but very unstable supply.

My TD also confirmed that the next update will be about the movement, still very, very experimental. There have been many problems, the mechanism has some very delicate aspects .... No other news on dial ....

Hi all. I'm very interested in this watch too and I'm asking a few TDs what's the latest about improvements. After reading all of this thread 2 times, I personally do not think the color is that off. But I agree that is a little dull in photo. Tho I'd like to see it in person.
The moon disk is for sure off. But can be fixed with gen part as far as I read.

1) Did you read that the crown might fall off? di anyone experience that? If true, I hope this is the main improvement they are working on movement related.
2) Did you notice that the lumen is green instead of light blue like the original? I wonder why they changed that.

Before you all jump on nit picking it like a bunch of vultures, consider than a gen is going to cost you between 150-180k. You're getting a piece that at wrist length looks legit. Not to mention that unless you live in a major metropolitan city, hardly anyone will know what this is. No one will be looking at movement engravings either.

to me it looks legit even if someone hold it in their hands. its very very very similar from what i see.. if they just make the moon disk a little darker, that's it!

what engravings are you mentioning? that / missing that was mentioned some pages ago? If I'm not wrong I saw a photo of a gen without it somewhere. maybe I'm wrong.

You are correct. The biggest problem here is that most people go by gen pictures. Look at the gen closeup. It's not as magnificent as the pics. Gen Pateks are also known to have misaligned markers which people here call a reason to reject QC

My friend has a gen 5712. He gave $ 95k when he bought it. I gave him my 5712 PPF v2 and he thought it was a gen until I told him. He said he still couldn’t see it and maybe if he held both he could.
Mine is away for modding. When I get it back I will take some side-by-side pictures with his gen.

That would be an incredible contribution. Which mods are you getting done in it?
