Sorry guys, did I miss a big flaw? What's wrong with the DW?

I wouldn't say a big flaw but alot of the dw I have seen some of the numbers are slightly slanted. It seems especially to be on some of the 1X and the 2X numbers to some degree. It's not the position of the numbers in the window but the printing of the wheel.
The '1's should be straight but some are slightly slanted. The '10' is the most obvious with '0' slanted towards the top of the '1'.
It's not that big of a deal but the date wheel should be easy to get 100% right.
I'm happy with the ones I have even though they are not perfect but will wait and see if they improve before buying more.
While the new cover plate is nice it's still not going to fool anyone who knows the movement.

That's a new one - slanted numbers. My DW has double numbers that are not at the same level. Particularly 16 where the 6 isn't aligned horizontally with the 1.

... and to prevent it happening again? A mod? New stem?

Honestly don't know. I've been reluctant to tear it down as it's working fine otherwise. I suspect the locking peg of the keyless works, and the machined groove on the stem are both shallow. Might not be fixable as such but just something to put up with.

Finally Bit the bullet and have mine on the way - sadly purchased before i heard the news about the new movement decoration, but oh well, i am very happy with how this one looks anyhow. QC pics below, I have already approved and its on the way. As is a custom strap from VN. Had him change the color of the bottom side of the strap (Skin side) to a dark red/burgundy, to give it a more unique santoni ish style.

Would a gen DW fit?

As far as I have seen the position of the orientation dogs is half a division out so the date jumper would have to changed (a new one made). I don't think the existing one could be modified as the dw has to move forward by the half division and it isn't long enough.

I for one am a PAM/IWC fan so this is the best of both worlds for me :)
I completely agree.
I am considering only collecting PAM and IWC. Although I still have an amazing Steelfish...

All my 30s are fine but I have fitted gen dials so was able to position them so the date is more central in the window
