Do these use regular Luminor straps? I have a gen black calf sitting in my watch box waiting for a new piece.

i'm pretty sure the lug size of the 512 is 22mm, so if your strap is a 22mm strap then yes it can be used :)

I found one of these at an AD yesterday and tried it on my 6.375" wrist. It felt much smaller since it is very thin and I'm used to wearing a 111. I would say its a great business dress watch for skinny wristers. Also the sub dial is small compared to the 111.

22mm straps are gonna get a whole lot more popular suddenly :D

Any idea what movement they could use?

Not a 7750 - too thick
Not a 6497 - too big/thick

21J? 17J handwind?

well the gen is manual, so i would assume we are looking at modified 6497, or possible new movement? I dont know
I mean, look what they did with the p.3000 or the p.5000, at this point, everything is up in the air....

I have the gen, and looking at it's size, I would doubt that a 6497 can fit into the case. 90% sure.

My suspicions are on the 17j hand wind.

They defo can't use the 6497 since it's too big. Heard they're repping the movt thou but who knows if it's true.
I'm holding on to mine for now until I see how good the rep is. lol

I bet on $488 and people will line up to snag one no questions asked! I am one as long as they rep the dial, CP, and caseset spot on..

Dont say that!!! Make it $250!

I don't even wear my gen that much- the reps are that good.

I can't agree with you at all. 512 should use a very simple movement, I can't see it go over $300
