NEW NTTD No Time to Die Titanium/Titanium Seamaster 007 Edition

Just received my V3.5 NTTD today. If I’m being honest probably one of my most disappointing reps. The dial looks great and case shape and weight is true to Gen. However the bezel is very poor and cheap feeling, quite a bit of play both around the face but also horizontally weirdly. It is constantly about a mm off which is not great for my OCD. Is this a common problem? The mesh bracelet I also find is heavy and uncomfortable but I guess the latter judgement is subjective. The nato strap has been well documented here and I don’t have much more to add, just feels like a cheap strap from eBay. The lume is nice for the few seconds it lasts.

Sorry if I come across negative, maybe I got a dodgy watch. I know there are a lot of fans on this thread and I think most people might be able to overlook these issues. A new strap might revive it for me. Let’s see how it grows on me over the next few weeks but probably gonna end up on the sales section.

Maybe you can do the dental floss trick to tighten it? but not sure if this works with the SMP Construction

As for the Mesh, well its not Titanium. So its heavy like every other Steel Mesh.

Damn VSF with some top tier work even copying gen flaws lol. Will try the floss mod after a visit to the shops tmo, will check in thereafter!

Yh I get that the mesh is heavy with the steel but I found the disparity in weight of the titanium watch case and titanium bracelet not in equilibrium. Making a titanium bracelet to this would deffo complete the package.

This is why ultimately the price tag for this watch is a joke. It's a nice watch but it's not north of £7,000 nice. For all the hype surrounding the implementation of Titanium and it's overall craftsmanship, this sort of breakage at this price point is unacceptable. This is what happens when you allow an actor to design a watch because the wrist he wanted to slash a few years ago can't cope with wearing stainless steel for too long.

Despite going upmarket in price Omega is making more and more of their parts in China.

Yes that's a gen.

If a gen titanium mesh can break like that, I'll be worried about a rep titanium mesh and how long it would be before the rep titanium mesh break in a similar way.

My V3 had the same loose and sloppy bezel play. I removed the bezel and gently raised the metal tabs/detents under the bezel with a small flathead jewelers screwdriver and it made a huge difference. It is now much tighter and feels more solid overall. Hope that helps.

That is pretty damn embarrassing for Omega tbh. Be one thing if it was a $3k watch, but people are buying this instead buying a Rolex, should be ashamed.

Having said that, I like the design of the watch, and I just ordered a rep from Trusty lol. Even if I don't like the rep mesh, the photos I;ve seen of it on a leather strap have been fuego.

Lol. I mean he ostensibly just had input into the aesthetics of the watch. He's not involved with the engineering of it.

How did you remove it? like a Rolex Bezel, just pop off with a knife?

Did they use cheap superglue to connect the mesh to the endpiece? lol Thats a straight kick for Omega :jeff:

All those Rolex Guys at Rolex SA will be laughing in theyre Chairs.

Maybe Omega should cooperate with VSF, i'm sure with a little Money they could make it better (know better Factorys)

If the mesh that is connected with the endlinks can easily break off like that on the gen due to god knows what, I'd gladly stick with my V3 mesh that has the reinforced endlinks. The last thing I want is for that part to suddenly break off while its on the wrist.

I think on the Rep it won't break that easy as it is SS and welding is strong.

With that said, suddenly I don't really want a replica titanium mesh. If the gen can brake off like that, how strong would a replica titanium mesh be I wonder before it brakes at the link like the gen. I think I'll stick with my V3 steel mesh.

Titanium doesn't just "break" like that, it's the welds that most likely have failed and this has to do with the procedure of welding titanium, its all about quality control and not the actual material itself, so calm down people.
Also, I think that the reason they haven't release a ti mesh so far is that basically, they use the ss mesh as a "clay" model and constantly refining details about it because doing so with ti would be more costly both in terms of money and time.

So this is the new updated one, called 2020, Most people including me, i have 2 Genuine, now my favourite watch of all is the Casino Royale on the black leather, and it's my fav Bond film, I get a kick out of seeing it on his wrist, knowing mine is that watch. If i now brought the NTTD watch and watched the film and saw the differences I would not be impressed. If the gen has a SS bracelet, Gen AND Rep owners will be satisfied
