So beautiful and great photography as well. I love what you did with the blue, and the dial, with white seconds hand finishes it off perfectly.

Once you sanded the original paint off the back of the insert, do you think it would it be possible to remove the lume as well so it can be replaced? Wondering if it can be soaked overnight in water and then the lume is soft enough to dig out with a toothpick...

I totally missed CNY - didn’t even make QC pics before shutdown so I got weeks to plan out what I should be doing.

Yes I search for that blue quite some time! But nobody mentioned the red, though it is way harder to get a vivid one that looks antique. It can rapidly become plastiquy if it's the wrong shade. I think it took me 3 tries before landing one I liked.

About the lume, yes when you sand the plastic paint layer, you have access to it, but it's very hard and not paint like, more like a plastic matter.
I tried soaking with tea and coffee, but it won't stain a bit, and certainly not enough to show on the recto side.

I had the idea of scrapping it off, but then the number would look all weird and irregular, not gen like.

Pretty hard feat to replace the lume I would say, but I may experiment!

Finally got mine from Li. Any tips to resize the bracelet since it doesnt have regular pins or screws?

just use a screwdriver or cellphone pry tool to pull the folded bracelet apart from the back, use a rubber mallet to push it back together

Now light blue or ultramarine ?
It would prolly be good to find a reference photo you like the look of, and try to replicate it. You might find you need to mix the two somewhat, or add some black or white, to match your intended tint/hue.
