OMG .. this is a 3k not gen. i wonder if the guy know since he suppose to be a gen watch shop owner.
the case fat link and the crown guard must be 3k. And look at the movement. Whoever buy from him will be in deep shit.

On second looks it is a modded 3kf v1 but they shaved down the CG.

Omg they are selling a 3kf as gen!

This case shape is a v1 as the chamfers and on the 2 side of the case are not existent.

This is a gen. this version is super close to Buff . Round marker box dial. Sunblast .

No matter how you put it, nothing is really good on the buff dial. (Compared to gen)

the sunburst is to strong, the dial color has a strong green tint, that’s not correct for a boxed logo dial. The white Patek text, is pretty low quality. Yes there are variations in gens as well, you can see plenty of post on different forums that supports that. As well as my 2 gen dials above

If you like the buff dial, and you enjoy the looks of it in your watch, that should be enough. Is it close to gen, imo not at all. I still think the PPF v4 is the way to go. Hell I would take the v3 over the buff

I disagree. I can't see such a mismatch on my stock 3KF dial under direct sunlight.

100% sure its gen. the 2 set of pics are also from different site. as i said before buff is very close to gen. just there are different variations in gen of different year. In my city there are lots of used watch shop with 5711. If you have handle enough gen then you will know bro.
the hour marker are also different on many gen. there are also different crown guard shape also. So as the datewheel font.

I do agree with you that the green hub usually appear more on non box dial. But the one you have doesnt seems to be the green hub version

errr, doesn’t matter boxed or unboxed hence why I shared both Chrono24 originally and then followed up with some ig links…I owned the genuine watch up till a year and a half ago so I know what I’m looking for…thought I made out like a bandit (purchased at $34k, sold it for $105k) but obviously didn’t think the market would continue to melt up like it has, the more recent discontinuation definitely added to the frenzy even more. It’s still just a bloody ss watch at the end of the day!

Anyhow, I’m just trying to point out that the genuine article, regardless of boxed or unboxed logo has date numerals slightly closer to the left edge of the date box. Not touching the top like another person mentioned (only touches when still mid-transition between dates).

The numerals of the 20s-30s also have much less leading ie numerals are much tighter together than the teens.

Depending on year of the watch the font weight also varies. The gen I owned was a 2011 and is identical to buff’s datewheel font weight. Peggy’s dw font is neither the thin version or the thick version, it’s some weird in-between.

Hence, my observation that she created a problem that was never a problem to begin with. But I guess if you like your date numbers really centered and spaced out, then all the power to you…

Totally agree with you about the left alignment and I think buff’s dw is very close to gen. I compared it with those gen 5711s from chrono24.

A lot of people missed out a very important mod. Is the first link. all gen have a cap between the case and the first link. Making the bracelet more flexible. Thats a big tell even on wrist. Way more obvious then the crown thickness.

I think at this point someone needs to make a 2.0 guide for the ultimate build for a 5711. Like a who to use and what to ask for blueprint. Would be cool if it also included a mid tier build if someone can’t do a Gen dial. I know blueprints exist when people want to build movie props so would be cool if someone here could do it.
