Is there anyone else out there than can produce custom dials? Or is at least willing to give it a try at this point?

China is the best place to do that as they have the ready technology.

However what’s difficult is the color. To get it right, first time.

You are overthinking this :)

Why not go with the PPF v4 dial? It’s pretty much spot on for a boxed dial. The sunburst is good, the color is good, beautiful print. The one thing you could do, is either: use buff hour markers (easy solution) or have the PPF markers slightly reshaped (difficult but better solution)

I know we mostly talked about getting the blue hue right which is it on topic. However, what about the white dial? It seems like most say the ppf one is ok but I have seen people complain the silver tone is not quite right.

On a side note I’m also surprised none of these companies have bought a Gen dial and tried to match it. I can understand the watch but seems like they would have just got a dial. Or maybe they did and just don’t know how to match it up lol.

I think my issue at this point is finding a modder. I have a very well known and respected one but he’s gone ghost on me so I really don’t know if he’s still making it or not. It’s weird cause he told me it would be ready in a few days around early Dec then poof and it’s been 2 months of silence.

I am going to confuse you guys even more.

This was an earlier buff that one of my buddies bought when the buff craze started. It had a very strong sunburst which I wasn’t able to replicate with later versions

This is my current one which I did my best to bring the sunburst out. It is definitely less “bursty”.

Mine is like your new one bro. Thats like the max sunblast .
the super sunblast and green hub can only come out under superstrong yellowish spot light.

“Poor and far from gen”, as you put it yet as of this post, it seems to be the closest alternative to gen than anything else? I’m confused lol…so everything else would be “poorer & Mars away from gen?”

Good on y’all w these gen dials btw, let’s see em in watches!

Gen boxed vs boxed rep:
https://youtu.be/faTFFSsOJ7o

Gen clearly has more green in the dial so I have no idea what some folks are on about recommending ootb over buff-modded ie I can’t reconcile the contradictory commentary.

I guess the best way to make sense of it all, is buff sits left of gen while ootb sits right of gen in the spectrum of things?

Both wrong and “far from” gen, so I should just repurchase my old 2011 gen at $100+k more than I sold it for and be done with it lol. Sorry, I’m too Chinese to drop $200+k on an ss watch, would rather add another ferrari or mclaren, heck even a new boat would be more smiles per dollar, cheers.

When did you put your order in?

That looks terrible & “far from gen”. You should throw it away and apologize to the world for sharing lol. That’s sarcasm btw (for the less astute).

Btw are there any crown mod options out there? For me, that’s really the only nitpick I’ve had.

Lol. I order mine from dec. its a new batch dial as i confirm from buff. But he didnt mention if anything is updated. He does update his stuff once a while but not with much introduction. He recolor his green dial too as i know.

crown mod IMO legend did a good job on thinning it. But buff repolish the crown roundness which looks closer to gen and kinda look thinner. but he doesnt actually mod the thickness.
thinning the crown is easy but I believe it might effect the WR. Since you cant fully turn the crown in touching the case, or else the stem should push further into the mvt.
