I would also change the bezel and insert, unfortunately the Raffles ones are not Gen like and are of poor quality
yes totally agree, raffles bezel and insert are very poor and an instant tell. i will exchange them with a gen bezel and insert i have.
are there any other aftermarket options? (then i think about keeping my gen parts in the safe 😅 )

one CG done. Comparison with Gen :):
This is coming along great! What year is your genuine? I'm guessing 1975, which puts it at the tail end of the Mk2 dial... was I close?

Yes, I recommend Viet bezel, for the insert I went with the original unless you find a perfect aftermarket insert ;)

I bought my bezel on Ebay (Chad seems to be the seller). It was the last piece but sometimes it has something.
For the Crown Art Custom insert for the quality they have they are expensive, they cost a little less than a GEN...

I love how you kept it bigger and sharper while having a perfect comparison to get the dimensions right. Are you aiming for a specific year/style with the final watch, or are you playing it by ear?

thanks :)

i also left the CGs a tiny bit bigger because i can see that on my gen 1675 the left CG has been polished so its a bit thinner than it initially was.

i am thinking about going with the flat top early CG version. Only because my gen is the later rounded version so to have something different. I already made a PCG version with the raffles so that would then fit in.
i still need a matching dial then, maybe VN dial. I did not look into that yet

Nice! I like the early version with the flat top, for mine I went with the rounded one to have a 1978/1979 look that also fits the dial. Great job anyway! The 1675 is still for me the best looking GMT ever

So has anyone tried fitting a rolex clone gmt movement in this case yet?? cal. 3285?
would be like putting a brand new crate motor in your bitchin Camaro..?

Oh I like cars with swapped engines ;-)

The Raffle case is also good base to build a 16750. They use a 3075 movement - what is close to a 3186. With a little lathe work it fits to the case. Here a build thread from the Camaro ;-)
