I just finished my viet 1675 project...
Fine looking watch!
Can someone with a raffles gmt case try and fit a 36mm raffles explorer case back to the mid case?
I've been wondering the same thing. If a suitable case back can be found, making a '1655' out of the Raff GMT might case not be too hard.
I had a genuine 1675 apart a while back but did not measure the case neck OD or the inner (crystal retainer) bezel ID.
Just now measured a high mileage used 1675 insert (blue faded away, red almost gone, 'oval top' 8, red underside) and it is:
ID...30.20mm
OD...37.67mm
ID and OD of a nos service insert (Red & Blue top, blue underside, never installed 1675/16750 bez insert:
ID... 30.75mm
OD... 37.65mm
Thick... .83mm
Wide... 1.3mm
No idea why the newer service insert has a larger ID (measured it 3 times with Mitutoyo digital caliper). I thought the 1675
and 16750 inserts were exactly the same size as the old 1675 inserts.
Maybe the newer 1675/16750 inserts are slightly different. Maybe not, Maybe it is for a 16760 sapphire model. Who knows? Not me. We did get wrong parts now and then (RWC Dallas Tx).
I am not very sharp on 5 digit models and the only 16750 I have owned (R serial, matte dial) was never worked on. Had a new 16760 but sold it unworn. All long gone.
