On Ebay Chad, I bought it in February but I don't know if he still has it the price including insert and shipping was about 170 dollars. The production is Viet so superior to most. Highly satisfied.

First crystal of the 6 diffrent ones i ordered showed up. Threw it on and the cyclops is in the right place, mag is pretty good, I like the slight dome too. Chamfer is better than Clark's.

This is the 13$ wso 116 crystal. Wso is usually to be avoided, but it looked good in the pictures.

How did you get your crystal to sit so low? Did you sand down a mm or so on the bottom diameter? I have mine installed from wso and the beveled edge sits much higher than yours

That’s a good question. I second that.

I sort of refuse to pay 50 dollars for shipping to Germany for the WSO crystal…

I feel the same way, and I think this often, I like contemporary Rolexes less and less.

In the past watches were simple everyday tools, they were far from ostentatious, the same I think was true for people.

In this case the first GMT 6542 was an elegant but simple watch, nowadays the new GMTs (with apologies to those who own such a model) are robust, flashy watches... nice but not elegant in my humble opinion.

I think the 4 digit era of Rolex was the best in everything.

That's sort of a wives wives tale. I'm not sure if the blue contaminated the red or there was faulty dye, but they did not fade to fuchsia. They were accidentally produced. (Or they were optional, but there's no record.) I must've dreamt they were an option, but I'm confident no deep red ever faded to a violet magenta, unfortunately!
