Update, i finally got my files out and did some work on shaping the crown guards, i did a chamfer as i really like that look over the PCGs, as to bringing in the tube and such will have to wait.

I also finally got a bleach that works for fading the raffles bezel insert. Problem is it worked too good, it stripped more paint than expected and amplified the sanding marks and imperfections. So i put it in my spare parts box and ordered a new one.

To hold me over in the meantime, i put on a bakelite bezel i had custom made for my 6542 tiger build awhile back and it really makes the 1675 pop. I figured a lil fantasy while i wait for parts aint bad so heres some pics!

I recommend you remove the crown and tube and work at removing some of the metal on the inner side of the cg’s. It will make a world of difference.

Nice work on getting the dial, movement, and hands together without losing any of the white dial printing.
If you haven't found an insert, Milk inserts are gen spec, and personally, I think they are better than the current 1675 offerings from Vietnam. His 1675 cases, bezels, and inserts are all correct dimensions, and can be interchanged with genuine or high quality Vietnamese pieces too.
Here's a picture of one next to a genuine service insert. The genuine service insert is slightly darker with more of a flat, navy blue tone, and the Milk insert is a little brighter. I don't think he was trying to replicate a service insert anyway; it has a red back.
Does milk do a thin font version?

Would taking out inner cg material square off the circular crown cut out?

First crystal of the 6 diffrent ones i ordered showed up. Threw it on and the cyclops is in the right place, mag is pretty good, I like the slight dome too. Chamfer is better than Clark's.

This is the 13$ wso 116 crystal. Wso is usually to be avoided, but it looked good in the pictures.

WTF? Since when did they get crystals that actually fit? Thank you for the update.

I must ask, do you have have a genuine bracelet and genuine (maybe service) insert? The entire watch looks great. If it's running a NH34, you're just rubbing it in!

Nice work.

Sorry for the double "have" have. Maybe I started to stutter!?! Jubilees like that make me weak in the knees, I guess.

Thank you, yes i was surprised about the wso crystal too. it's even a bit too thick on the sides so it's nice and tight with my crystal retaining ring even though as per usual raffles has messed up the diameter of the crystal seat. i thought i was going to have to machine a new tighter retaining ring but this might work! When i have time to do my second case (need to move the crown another 0.1mm up & i screwed up the underside of the crown guards on this one) i will do a waterproof test. the gs crystals should show up this week, but im' liking the wso one.

yes, service insert and gen bracelet & nh34 . i was hoping i could live with a jubilee but it's not working..... 🤣 i am going to fix up a rivet bracelet and try that.

Finally got mine cased up and running. I’m just waiting on a better bezel insert, this one is a spare for a 16710 so the inner diameter is a little too wide but will do for a few days.

Raffles case, dial and hands
Sterkruez crystal
Viet bezel
EBay insert
Athaya crown
Hz6460
(Gen 93150 bracelet borrowed from my gen sub!)

Interestingly the measurements are as follows
Bezel width 39.3 (gen 39.3)
Thickness 13 (gen 13)
Lug to lug 47.1 (gen 47.5)
Width including crown 41.1 (gen 41mm)

So it’s a very accurate case when the crown work is done to your own taste. Kudos to raffles here.

This might sound like a strange question but is the only difference between this 1675 case and a sub case from the same vintage (5513, 1680) the crown guards?

As I know, dial opening is 27mm, sub=26mm, other glass, dial, bezel diameter and caseback is thinner..

Ok let’s keep this thread going! Here’s mine with Viet bezel in again. I’m still not convinced with the fat font bezel and will hold out for a thin font version and the gen black I have on order. But in this light, well it looks like Pepsi goodness!

The thing that I didn't like and that's why I immediately replaced the Viet insert with an original one is that the numbers 20 and 22 are incorrect because they don't follow the curvature of the insert as they should.
The original changes the whole watch.
The only nice thing was the fading

Yeah. Agreed, I’d really like to be able to get hold of a decent quality insert that replicates a service insert as gen prices for the Pepsi remain so high!
