I'll have to defer to Justin - I think CNC but I honestly don't know enough about that particular Black Magic to answer. I choose to believe he did it by hand. In the dark. With a glass of Jack in one hand and only the glow of a Chesterfield King lighting the case back...

Rotary engraving. The case-back on your example looks convex so probably wouldn't be able to replicate that unless a flat area was milled.

This is truly a great thread and well worth keeping for reference. What is 007-59 first I thought of KAL 007 but that was not Pan Am.. So???

Oh and would it be totally wrong to put that case back on my 1675, of course I would use different numbers , unless its in memorial.
