Absolutely great. If I may ask, did you consider the AMF build? If no, why not?

I haven’t seen anything extraordinary from AMF, and I like to be very hands on in the process. This was a very long and time consuming build, because we went trough all the different part options, as we where building.

AMF is a bit more basic, and not something I would really consider for myself

Thank you for your answer. Fair enough if you’ve got the time and knowledge, it actually makes sense. I still believe the AMF version to be superior to the PPF or 3KF standard versions but I’m nowhere near your level of knowledge, although I have a Gen 3700 but wouldn’t dream of opening it.

You should use the rotor from ppf looks better and close to gen engraved logo.

For my watchmaker to be able to reshape the bezel to gen spec, the 3KF was the only option, imo :)

They both look like shit, compared to the gen rotor :) I don’t really care about the movement, it will never look like a Patek movement, no matter what you do to it

Which of these dials is closest to gen?

Hard to assess since they’re positioned at slightly different angles. Only needs to be a couple of degrees off and the dial can explode into a different sunburst colour.

Dream franken, congratulations. Imho with a gen rotor the case back would make a difference.
I confirm… pics of mine with gen rotor

You are my hero and I love your projects. Wish I had your modder. But great ideas for a 5711 project I've been itching to pursue. Half the fun of this hobby is the hunt for frankening and how far we can take it!

Sweet, great read. I have a few pairs of gen hands, one of which I want to operationalize a build around in similar fashion to yours.
