it also helps make it look like it's not a gun in your pocket. lol

That's what a pocket holster is for! ;)

I would never carry in a pocket without one. they:

  • Keep anything in your pockets from getting mixed up with the gun (i.e. in the trigger)
  • Prevents pocket lint from wicking away all the oil and gumming up the works
  • Ensures it stays properly oriented in your pocket so you don't have to get it turned around/over before you pull it out
  • Are typically rectangular in profile which disguises it.

Here's a simplistic example:

If you don't carry your pocket gun this way, I HIGHLY suggest you consider it. It's all positives and no negatives.

To be honest Anop, I know it's not the best idea and I definitley respect your opinion especially when it comes to anything firearm related but my reasoning is that it adds a considerable amount of bulk (in relation to the gun)

I can also have my hand in my pocket and on the gun if the need or want strikes me. I can literally be talking to someone with my finger on the trigger. Also, there is no delay in getting it out or risking the holster not getting catching my pocket and coming out with the gun.

...again I know no gun expert would recommend this, but as a precaution I don't carry anything else in that pocket.

Also with my dress slacks they all have this little pocket inside my pocket.. maybe for a cell phone or something... anyway the barrel of the gun and past the trigger is covered and it prevents it from moving around as well.

but again i know it's dumb. LOL i'll post a new thread when I accidentally shoot myself, someone else or my car.

As they say, to each his own! FWIW I never had a problem with extra bulk as pocket holsters tend to be very thin. Also never had one pull out; they've always had to be twisted and rocked.
If you've tried it and it's not for you then I fully understand! If you haven't, consider going to a store and try one. Good luck either way. :anopsis:

Just added this one to the stable. It's for my wife (yes, really). Ultralight .38 with gold trim and rosewood grips. A ladies' gun if I ever saw one.

I wish we were allowed to CC up here in Canada. Its hard enough to get your PAL to be able to buy and own a handgun (for target use ONLY).

I carry a j frame in the summer, a G 26 in the winter and an XD 4O compact when I hunt. At the moment I am in a tree stand with my parker buckbuster crossbow and my 26. I can't even stay off RWI long enough to kill a deer. I need help. Keep it sleazy!
