guys I tried hard reading this post and many others, but i'm missing the bases. I found that you all are really kind and wise, so i'll ask you instead to figure it out by myself.

what are the problems of this watch? is the lemania a good movement.
thank you all in advance!

The movement is good. The problems are the watch doesn't say automatic on the dial and the usual subdial spacing

Why should it say automatic? It is a manual winding movement...

Mr. greenleaf, how do you like it? How is the lume? Chromosome work? Looks great!
I don't have the exact watch, but I can help with the movement since I have another with the same movement. It is a good movement, way more reliable than most other chronos, you can actually play with it a bit without fearing it breaking apart.

Sounds like a winner, thanks!

Someone mentioned previously that a reduced speedy would have the correct subdial spacing.

This one is 38mm and is reduced

http://puretime03.com/speedmaster-p...sian-manual-winding-chronograph-movement.html

Puretime says the watch is 38mm. If this was true (reduced Speedmaster), we all would say "the spacing looks great".

But I rather think the photos show the normal "First Omega in Space" 2013 numbered edition watch (look at the caseback), which is 39.7mm and not 38mm. In this case we all would say "the spacing looks terribly unbalanced and therefore is a big giveaway".
Shows how our thinking is dominated by paranoia in this rep business.

Hello everyone! I am new to the rep world and apologize in advance if I have not done enough research before hand. I am looking for the best rep of the speedmaster professional to date. I was looking at Greenleaf's and it looks promising but I would much rather it say professional on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there I am a newbie as well and had spent a lot of time going through the speedie posts. I was just as interested in the professionals but I tried to give the numbered edition a go after reading through all the history behind it. It was really amazing in terms of build and the recessed subdials to my nonexpert eyes. The subdial spacing issue is still there but it doesn't bother me at all with so much positives (some might argue the beauty of speedy lies in the subdials spacing) and would highly recommend it if you don't want the accurate quartz versions.

Short answer is there is really no "best" rep of the speedy. They all have very obvious tells in all cases. The lemania movement missing "professional" for example makes it stand out as a rep. I had a rep of a speedy reduced that said "professional" when it should have said "automatic" and it had incorrect hands. I wound up selling it.

You have to look at the pros and cons of each version and see what you can live with. nivka has created a list of some of the better reps and their flaws (in this very thread), and where to purchase them that I personally found very helpful on comparing the differences and deciding what I could live with.

Okay so I have found two speedmasters. One on tb that is a quartz and the other one is on king watch that is lemania manual. I can handle the visual flaws since I am brand new to all of this and would like one of these watches since I am well away from affording a gen. Which movement will be better? There is about 115 dollar difference between the manual and the quartz. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If its a moon watch, the quartz version will have a ticking sub dial @ 6. The dark side of the moon models do not have a ticking sub dial.

The movement differences are like chalk and cheese. The quartz will be set and forget and probably never ever fail and only ever need a battery change. The lemania (Sea Gull ST19) is hand wind only so it needs to wound everyday. But generally they are well regarded for their reliabilty. And Sea Gull (the maker) have a good reputation. I would try to keep the use of the chronograph feature to a minimum as a precaution for longevity.
