A very quick update :-

Had a message today, TAG Heuer F1 McLaren limited edition shoukd be landing on my desk Monday :D

The new Watch Cabinet is here, quite a nice thing it is, and the main carcass of it is built, but I need to carefully make a jig, because despite what it said in the description it is not drilled so that all shelves can be set equal distance apart, I actually need to re drill the second and 4th shelf mount holes so that all the gaps are equal !! Ho hum, nobody has any standards these days, so I will just have to get to that soon ...........

Because ...........

I picked up another car on Friday, bought it off a local customer of mine for a few magic beans, he's had it from new, only 48k miles, nice wee thing for an ugly Ford Fusion lol. He no longer needs a second car and didn't want to spend a bunch doing the work it needs,

So now I'm busy going over it wiv a fine toothed comb and getting it up to my exacting standards before giving it to Mel to use for her commute, this is an automatic trans, she can only drive autos ya see and up here most folks buy manuals ;)
She used to use our decent cars but we have had 3 clattered by selfish bastards over the past 2 years which just costs me money to fix because of course the car park is public and they are tourists who just fuck off. Not worth claiming off my Trade policy, because it has a £500 voluntary excess, and I have been able to repair the dings for between £4 - 6 00.

I'll send you some of the actual car tomorrow in pm, generic grabbed screenshot attached here, but I don't really want to clutter up my watch thread with car stuff, I got tons of cars and car stuff, been into cars since I was 13 :ROFLMAO:

It's nothing special, just a light metallic blue 2009 Ford Fusion 1.6 litre, 4 cylinder, petrol, with auto trans.
It's in good condition very low miles, drives nice, but has stood around not getting much use since his wife died, so Im basically giving it a shit load of pro-active sevicing work, new brakes, fluids, battery, belts and other bits and bobs plus a full valet ;)

Ideal car for Mel to run around in, instead of using one of our decent cars to be parked outside her shop all day and getting damaged by arse hole tourists

EH ? Why am I sad I had no loss ?

It was my Customers wife who died, and that was a fair few years back now ;)

He kept the car as a second car, most folks up here keep a second car as we are remote area.
it wasn't his wifes or owt, I don't think she ever drove.

He maintained it (customer of mine) up until this year, just wasn't needing it any more, since his new lady has a Car.

Annual test (MOT) is due in a couple of weeks, and he asked me for an estimate, the work (with labour being the biggest part) was gonna be about £1k, so he said he wouldn't bother, at which point I offered him £100 as it seemed like an ideal solution for a cheap but good run around for Mel, (and me) if I need to go pick up stuff I don't wanna put in the back of the decent cars lol.

The parts cost for the work (at my trade discount price) comes to about £300, so I just spend the next 2-3 weekends sorting it out and we have a low mileage nice condition Car to add to our fleet :ROFLMAO:

If we decide we don't actually want to keep it then it's resale value with a fresh MOT and that very low miles / exellent condition will be around £3000

If it had been a high miler I likely wouldn't have bothered ;)

Well looks like I misunderstood :)

I was having a side business about 15 years ago re writing the ECU of cars for better performance so I had my part of fun with car business but still in love with sport cars ;)

Ok, thread hijacked, let’s focus on watches

TAG Heuer F1 McLaren is here, short post as I gotta go out, but it is indeed a thing of beauty both horological and automotive.
I'll get some better pics up later, literally just un boxed it, tested it and gotta go out now, used crap camera in workshop ;)

All working fine, Steve at Theonewatches has excelled himself yet again, I will certainly buy more next month or so, once more funds arrive

You'll have to bear wiv me, very very busy work wise, but yes decent pixels will arrive tomorrow I expect :p

Yes the watch is fine, it's just not a quick process for me to get photos from my Phone to my Workshop Server or Laptop in house, which is the 2 machines I use for broswsing Forums etc ;)

It was ok before my EMail got hacked a few weeks back, I used to be able to send EMail from Phone with pix, but after BT sorted out the hacker arse hole that doesn't fuckin' work anymore

Normal service will be resumed ASAP :ROFLMAO:

Ooh I like this a lot. One question @Dave2302, do red watches go faster (like red cars)? I may need to reconsider some of my purchases… :sneaky:

Nah, the 3 TAG F1's I've now got all keep within a couple of seconds a month :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Impressive stuff really, I assume they're quartz? I've only ever had the one Gen tag (old style one) and it was quartz. Without a wonder it's so convenient

Yes indeedy (y)

Gen TAG F1's use the Swiss Ronda Mechaquartz, which is exactly what is in the Gulf and Mclaren F1's I just bought. These two, from Steve, are the best i have come across, and his prices are competitive, his service is great :):):)

The grey dial F1 CAZ1011 which I bought, (2nd purchase on here), actually was a cheapie, still works, still a nice looking piece, great for what I paid, but if comparing to Gen it does have a few detail differences, like no 1/10th seconds.
Later down the line I will likely replace that grey dial one with the better model, same as the ones I just got ;)

Since my reincarnation to the hobby, I am now getting into it all again and feeling my way to being able to purchase some top reps at the right prices.

Out of 14 watches I purchased since joining I only have 3, (all cheapies), that I will eventually replace with better quality, but I am certain i will be able to sell all 3 for what I paid when the time comes to upgrade them ;)

Nothing better than taking some of the cheaper reps up to a higher quality - Feels like you're buying gen! haha

Re Display cabinet, it has a glass on the front to stop dust, and that slides side to side each way so I can get the watches in and out easily, I noticed that you can't see the glass in the photie, but yeah that's how it works :)
