Small update:-

I received Tag Heuer F1 Gulf Edition QC today, including a video showing all functions, Date working etc, happy with pics and video and so and green lit the purchase, it should be posted in next 3 days ish.

Since the Tag Heuer F1 SLR Edition (same watch factory movement etc etc) was ordered a day or so later I expect that I will be green lighting that.

I would post pics etc here but I understand and respect it's not allowed except if I had an issue that i wanted advice on

And yes, the Sub Dial @6 does run at 1/10th seconds, all IS working as Gen and date window exactly @ dial 4 marker unlike the cheapies

I think you can post photos if it is approved already and not asking advice just as presentation of your newest acquisition

There is a video, clearly showing the 1/10th seconds and subdials running correctly etc etc but I have no clue as to how to post that here, so y'all have to take my word until i get a UTube vid after it arrives here

I can be a sentimental old bastard, I almost feel like I dumped a woman for a couple of new gals on the block, but reality is I've moved up a grade of watches.
That said my Tag F1 CAZ 1011 Grey Dial, (second purchase since joining RWI) is still a good looker, and less flash, so that will still get wrist time, because I'm still very happy with it even though it has the 2 compromises which is purely due to it's price bracket.

I returned the 14 black 3 D Printed watch stands as not fit for purpose, they had the foot too small and too far back, the heavier watches would tip forwards, seller was good, accepted a return straight away, so assuming refund goes through in next few days I will leave him a good feedback, he says he will revise the design.

I also decided to buy a better and bigger display cabinet today, plexi glass and wall mounted again, but comes with it's own built in watch stands, and all compartments are separate, and it holds 24 watches.

My new cabinet comes with its own stands, and also background colour of choice, wall mounted. I will likely add led lighting yet to be decided

Thanks, and yes, Mel is very easily pleased, except when I'm an arse lol. She absolutely loved the Ladies DJ I got her for Christmas.

Congratulation, the TAG Heuer F1/McLaren are beautiful watches, 43mm is a good size for a chrono, and not that expansive either...

Second short QC Video arrived early hours, so the 1/10ths on that watch are working spot on too, and this second purchase is green lit

I also learned summat new, never having had a Chrono that has tenths ..............

Once the Chrono has run for 30 seconds, the 10ths stop at 10 /10ths, and it is when you stop the chrono the 10ths then jump to the figure it was stopped at. First QC didn't show the first 30 seconds it was already running for ~ 3mins before they started that first Video !!

This is done on many many 10th seconds Quartz Chrono movements, so as not to excessively drain the Battery, or wear out the wee gears and surfaces that are rotating at 1 revolution per second ..................................

Now it all makes sense

(I confirm that this watch QC has been approved and being dispatched to me)

So, a few posts back in the new year I bought an AP Ladies Royal Oak for Mel, a pressie for our forthcoming second wedding anniversary



But, being as anal as I am, I couldn't just give her the Watch, and just like the Ladies Datejust I gave her for Christmas, it had to have box and papers set

However, finding that for anything that wasn't a telephone number ££££££££££££ was a bloody mission

After trawling Flea of the Bay I finally found a nice looking set, (like new), and it had a couple of hours to go, no bids, £29.99 starting bid, so I put in a best offer of £35.00

2 hrs later the auction ended and I got it for £29.99, which was a proper touch, arrived today
Well actually I had to go and get it from the Royal Mail sorting office 25 mile round trip, along wiv a bunch of other mail, because Postmistress Pat and her Pussy have turned into Clone Snowflakes and decided it was too dangerous to deliver the mail due to the snowy icy roads ..............
Pah, I've been here 17 years + and we've had worse winters, still got the mail

Anyways tha noo, once I got home and unpacked it I was over the moon and I just know I'm definitely on a promise now for our Anniversary

Of course that Daytona is nowhere near some I see on here, and I know you are one of the exspurts on them, but for £140 nicker it was still a good buy, if nothing else for the days of hilarious entertainment we got outta ol' Phil , fuck me, I'd spend more than that up the pub and come home early bored

When it comes back I'll bet ya no - one outside of this forum will call me out on it when wearing it.
It's fully functional and keeps good time, and I have already improved it ten fold by simply cleaning it and lightly polishing.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I'm now wishing I had actually treated it to a Black Arabic Dial (like it's predecessor I owned and destructed), to go with the new handset !! Thing is tho, if I do that, by then you will probably have fallen in love wi' it and offered me a huge sum of money for it

Minor update, now received the Tracking info for the Tag Heuer McLaren F1, so there is now a waiting period until that and the Gulf Edition F1 arrive here.

I'm not a fan of the older Monaco's (square watch), actually I've never liked any square watches, but I could combine Carrera and Monaco into one hit as I have seen this and it's on my wanted list, albeit wiv a Stainless Bracelet .........



I will likely also buy another of the later F1's actually, it's just me previously being involved in various Motorsports, as well as the Boats and Water stuff, that's why I like the F1's and the Omega Divers, Submariners, IWC, Daytonas etc etc yak yak yak

Well tbh I just like Watches in general, but certain types, when I see it it's either YUK (for me to own), or YEAH !!
