And now after all the Atomic scientists have settled down for some strong coffee,.... the question begs to be answered : Is it really bronze , as bronze should be ? Solid, all the way bronze? Is it similar to the Gen composition, in color [side by side compare in broad daylight] same hardness, etc. etc................. And the investigation continues folks...................

it is likely that it is bronze. What's very unlikely is that it's the exact same bronze that panerai used. When I get mine I'll compare the density of a watch part with the density of bronze.
Maybe you should smell it too to confirm. I have brass and bronze and they smell different. Ha haSorry to be the bearer of bad news but I just inspected a sample of this and it is 100% brass. It does have a very thin layer of rose gold plating on it. That's why it looks a little pink. It is easy to see if you inspect the engraving or the inside of the crown guard, it is yellow.

Sample of the ZF or KW?
Also, while I know you are not a noob, a few things about your note strike me as odd.
1) It would seem out of the norm to me to engrave after plating. These makers for the most part know what they are doing, and we don't see Rose Gold models that have been engraved through the plating.
2) Your second comment about the inside of the CG showing off the plating process means that the watch cases and crown guards would have been plated after being assembled as a mid-case unit. This seems extremely unlikely to me. I don't have my bronzo in front of me. Are the screws securing the CG to the case plated? If not, any plating would have to have been done before being assembled. Also, there would be a noticeable difference in tone on the case istelf where the CG mounts to the case.
Like I tosaid, I know you know what you are doing, so clear me up where I've misunderstood your comment.
My suspicion is that what you are seeing is a difference in oxidization due to exposure to oxygen vs. no exposure to oxygen (inside of CG), and perhaps heat-induced oxidization differences where the engraving took place.
It is not incumbent on me to prove anything. You can wait for your watch to arrive and see for yourself. For those who are on the fence, you can wait for others to prove the statement correct. But I stand by what I just wrote.
The watch looks bronze to me. I have a few rose gold plated watches, and I dont have to submerge them in ketchup to get them clean. I dont understand the problem here. The 382 Z factory watch is an awesome piece. Whats up with all the haters?
