It's not clear to me if he was referring to ZF or KW or both? This is KW thread after all.
Why every question about this watch must be considered made by ZF haters?

Agree, this is why I asked for some clarification...not sure why I got the snippy response.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I just inspected a sample of this and it is 100% brass. It does have a very thin layer of rose gold plating on it. That's why it looks a little pink. It is easy to see if you inspect the engraving or the inside of the crown guard, it is yellow.

Can I please ask what you mean my inspecting a sample of this? What was the process of your analysis?

I simply took a couple of insane macro shots to take a closer look at my engraving on my CG and I fail to see this yellow colour you refer to. See the pics below but I am sure your process has to be far more concise than any efforts I have made here. Based on what I can see though, it looks like Bronze.

Looks to me like a casting, an 'investment casting' it is called. The Gens are milled and CNC machined from a solid block of bronze. Most likely forged for added strength.................. Nothing wrong with 'investment casting'.........they serve the same purpose, just a little bit rough on the edges. .................. as an example, Ruger has always made their firearms out of 'investment castings'........that's why the are so affordable. Milling and CNC machining would cost a fortune if done nowadays. ...................at least we now know its solid all the way. Thanks for sharing the photo minge. Great pic !!

It is not incumbent on me to prove anything. You can wait for your watch to arrive and see for yourself. For those who are on the fence, you can wait for others to prove the statement correct. But I stand by what I just wrote.

that's convenient! not your responsibility to prove your own words? to me, it's just BS all the way...

the brass/bronze & plating issues were already been discussed in numerous threads. go see for yourself.

So we are all not sure yet if it is indeed bronze OR brass. They are both inexpensive metals and easy to cast or machine. The plumbing industry uses them extensively just about everywhere. Perhaps somebody can send over a sample to the International Metalurgical Institute to be examined. A few shavings is all it takes. That would settle all questions. The mystery continuous.........

no, it won't. there will still be sceptics saying things like "yea right, the factory must had bribed the guy, or the lab, or some shxt like that."

there was a metallurgical analysis provided by angus long time ago, but ppl still doubting it *shrug* did anyone question about Ti or 316L SS watches? don't think so.

as for buffedupboy, confirming it's indeed 100% brass & rose gold plated by just looking at it really isn't credible.

like others said, haters gonna hate...

I thought this back and forth was over. I have a solution, all current owner should send their watches to the panerai AD and demand a material analysis and a dial comparison. Sounds rediculous... so is this ZF and KW beef. Im sure the KW release will be fine, but I am enjoying my ZF right now. I worked on patina and now I have started over again.

Buyers should send gen pics to the TD's and demand that every watch look just like those pictures. That would solve all these problems.

I keep cleaning mine and going back to square one. I was going to sink it in the spongebob tank and see how it reacts to salt water.

I'm looking forward to getting mine in and waterproofed. First outing will be to Galveston or Kema, TX for a little salt air and water interaction.

This is CRAZY but so entertaining, Being a Newbie I have been wrestling with what I want vs what I can afford and I think one nice watch per month is not unreasonable.????
