Yeah, 1 post after all this time does not give us any confidence in your statement. Since apparently you have been to the shops which offer the best for 8 years now, maybe you should post a bit about your forays into the rep scene, with pictures of course. ;)

Sorry for delay, I used a good lens to capture my Pam382 shot today. Luckily I caught the loosening strap clasp bolt (see rear shot) in time! Time to get out that loctite.

Many thanks to Kilowattore and Zkebam for setting me straight on attaching pics. There's no stopping me now.
Have done nothing to encourage patina which seemed to rapidly darken days after I took it away from the shop. Picture is of 2 week old watch. Probably something to do with other metals mixed with the bronze. Looks antique now but I guess that foretells some timely & careful polishing in the future.
Thanks for ZF identification - I concluded the same. This piece so far so good for me.

Dont need to carefully polish it! Just need a lemon, cut rub and shine within seconds!
But i really like the patina, mine look like a bit as fake gold after cleaning

Sorry for my ignorance! But what is the problem/intention here? Why you have to test 20 materials instead of simply take the CuSn8 alloy like Panerai did?

Have you tried to find a cheaper material which has a similar oxidation/color behavior?

AS we know , Air oxidation test and Sweat corrosion test cost long time .

we have more than 20 material for test ,

CuSn8 isnt only a combination of copper and tinn. There are much more materials used, given endless possible CuSn8 combinations. Nobody knows, which exact combination of copper, tinn, phosphor, nickel, zink, iron, plumb and undefined other materials Panerai used for the 382 cases.

Definition CuSn8:

tinn (Zinn, Sn) possible percentage from 7.5 to 8.5 %
phosphor (Phosphor, P) possible percentage from 0.01 to 0.4 %
nickel (Nickel, Ni) possible percentage from 0 to 0.2 %
zink (Zink, Zn) possible percentage from 0 to 0.2 %
iron (Eisen, Fe) possible percentage from 0 to 0.1 %
plumb (Blei, Pb) possible percentage from 0 to 0.02 %
other materials (undefined) possible percentage from 0 to 0.2 %

and finally: copper (Kupfer, Cu) filled up the rest to 100%.

So, a little drop more or less from each material will bring an other color of the bronze and their oxidation, the color of the patina.

Ok, I am not a chemist, but I hope I forgot nothing ;)

You might want to stop posting ZFac 382 pictures in the thread dedicated to the KW model release. Lets not create confusion while we are waiting for the KW 382 Bronzo, soon to be released :picard:

Dammit! I need KW to go ahead and release this watch! I put my 243 on just now after wearing vintage 6154 build and my 372 after the past few weeks and realized the 44mm submersible just feels small now. Definitely need a 47mm sub now and bronze is my first choice...

Question to all those who have the ZF or plan to get the KW version, I understand waterproofing is something that should be done after getting the watch in (sending off to watchsmith for greasing and water testing) but what strap choice would be good for getting wet? Probably not a good idea to get the rep leather or aftermarket leather straps wet I assume....Should this be put on a rubber strap or nato/zulu style strap or even possibly a canvas strap?

If you plan to get this wet, especially in salt water, I think rubber would be your best choice. Canvas might shrink and nato just doesn't look right with a big watch like this.

Thanks. I wasn't too keen on the nato. And I have a canvas on my AP diver and it did shrink up a little bit. Are there waterproof leathers? I know some of the vintage PAMs had some sort of waterproofed leather that built up quite a nice patina after wear and getting it wet.
