I promise Im leaving behind a live dealer klink!!!!
But what if you decide to do the bracelet change and you damage something else? Now who owns the watch? Its really a question of how much your willing to sacrifice......If you bought a Genuine Movado, from a jeweler, which is about what this rep. cost what would you do? Do you fix it or do you return the entire watch? Its a easy question.....

lol. Im just hoping that it is a simple spring-loaded mechanism as it apears to be to me too. If not I guess I will send both the watch and bracelet back at that point...

What I AM REALLY AFRAID OF is what crick said if the new one has stains on it. I asked Joshua to please make sure to inspect it though... If the new one has stains on it I am sure he will loose a lot of business on this "High quality" watch...

OK I took my J12 apart to lube the gasket and resize the bracelet... mine is the full ceramic but not the $500 one, as far as I can tell from the pics it is the same parts just without the extra finishing step.

Getting the bracelet out was a snap. I have no idea why it gave you trouble...

Getting it in almost cost me my hair.

NOTE THIS MIGHT JUST BE MY WATCH. We are talking half a mm of difference and all would be ok, but on mine that half mm was not where I needed it.

The reason is the tolerance on the holes for the springbar is very close to being too close to the case. This means that while pressing the end link against the case into position the spring bar sits about 1/2mm too far from the case to to go into the hole. This was a total bitch.

I say again this might just be luck of the draw because one end went in ok with some fighting, the other resisted me for a full half hour and what I Can only guess is a dangerous amount of pressure.

Finally my solution was to take the caseback off, install the hard end on just the caseback. This was easy as there was no case to get in the way.

Then installed the caseback with a little fighting, then installed the one that worked. It took fighting again but in 5 minutes I had it back in.

Let me just say I am not taking those out again unless I absolutely have to...

That's my experience so far... hope yours goes easier :(

BTW if it uses the same parts as mine (which I would think it does) they are just normal springbars (do you have a springbar tool? ) and actually quite nice ones at that, fat and solid and lots of "spring" :)

hey thanks buddy! Your bracelet looks just like mine. I am begining to wonder if there is this finishing step and what exactly is the difference...

Anyway I did not take mine off yet I was merely asking since I will be sent a replacement one. I was asking to make sure that I can do it because if I cant I would have to send the watch back. I do not have a springbar tool at the moment.

I would suggest ordering one, they are cheap from birdman on these forums or anywhere pretty much (be careful, mine is blue anodized and my hand turned blue from it!) it will make life so much easier...

As for the extra step I don't know... could be marketing, could be legit... if you want to send me your bracelet or some links after all is said and done I will do some snapshots and a side by side... would be nice to find out.

I can say that mine is a very nice shiny finish, I am happy with it for the price and it definitely looks like solid ceramic no doubt. I imagine it could be shinier...

In the end I think you will end up taking the caseback off to get the bracelet back on... as for the waterproofing... well there is some bad news on this front which I will post up soon in a J12 review :(

with such a fancy watch, why would i swim with it or shower with it? :)

a set of jewelers screwdrivers and a springbar tool from birdman will do just fine. before the springbar tool, i used a thumbtack to get me by. Lots harder, but still doable.

you can opt to send back max, but i dont you're going to get the watch back by jan31st. too much "problems" with delays, customs, etc.

Hey do you think you can instead send me one of your links now so I can compare them to the bracelet that I have now and to the new bracelet that will arrive so if there is no difference I will return the watch and you would have saved me a lot of $$$. Please let me know if you can do that Im in the states... I would of course take pics and send it back to you. Im getting a new Canon G7 camera this weekend so I should be able to post some very good pics.

The reason I am concerned about taking the caseback off is because I paid extra to have the watch water-proofed. No one is going to swim wearing it but I just wanted to be safe in case it rains or water splashes on it etc...

I would but sadly the GF has decided she wants the links back in to let it be looser... it was not working out for her well tight... if she changes her mind again and I get one off we can definitely do that...

sounds good.

Dev do you think you can take a bunch of pictures of the watch and either post it here or email them to me. I am starting to think more and more that this high quality stuff is just BS because I apid so much more for mine and I had stains on it. Also the bracelet feels very loose especially near the end-links (is yours like that?) and does not feel "high quality" at all. The watch itself looks beautiful but from what I understand th eonly thing that is different is the bracelet... Im thinking of just getting a refund for this thing.

I will have to see how loose the links seem at the end... they didn't strike me as particularly bad but then she is comming from one of the super cheap painted steel ones which was SUPER loose on all the links. That said I got the feeling that the links were a bit looser than your average ss bracelet overall, but I would think that is to be expected with ceramic.

As for pictures, I will try (I actully have a bunch of pictures already but they were taken in bad lighting with no whitebalance set so it wouldn't help) but I think the kind of thing the high quality one boasts won't show up well in pics... as I understand it it's the same parts, same make, just the parts are fired to a super high gloss "toilet bowl" shine. While mine is certainly shiny and white (looks almost like plastic) it's not quite up to toilet bowl shine. So as for quality I would be very surprised if build quality was any different, just luster and finish on the material is what I thought you are paying for in the pricier one.

The staining is unfortunate, but I am not even sure the high quality one is supposed to avoid imperfections like that... as I said it was my impression it was to make it shinier, not remove imperfections... I would have expected they not go through the extra dangerous firing on anything but top notch bracelets to begin with but then I am constantly surprised by the kind of crap that goes out the door on some reps.

We will find out today how she liked the looser bracelet and I will try to snap some decent shots as well as put up my review with shots of the guts tonight (got super tired last night).

are the gens just as loose?

i was disappointed with a midsize YM's bracelet being lightweight until i actually held a gen in my hand only to find the gen bracelet JUST as light!

yea no access to gen. But the bracelet on my YM seems "tighter" and the rolex bracelet are considered pretty light-weight...

Also the extra firing step is also to get rid of imperfections and creates a lot of waste product thats why it is also mroe expensive...

I would say my bracelet is shiny, but not as shiny as I would expect... Hard to say but overall for an $800 rep Im dissapointed with the way my situation turned out, thats why Im probably going to as for a refund.

wow... i can't tell. have no experience with chanel.

If its not screws, then its pins? if there's no slit for a flat head screwdriver then could be pins which means pin link removing tool or watchguy. :(

hope someone with a chanel can shed some light!
