Have you tried taking the caseback off? From this picture

http://watchwindersworld.com/images/1/870/7.jpg

it looks like the caseback is attached to the bracelet somehow permanently.

If you look at the lugs no holes and also why would they bother taking the bracelet off for this photo if it wasn't attached to caseback?

Good luck...

BTW I also agree I think most dealers simply drop ship and rely on the products being generally good enough across the board they can simply act surprised when a really bad one comes along.

oh wait I did not realize that I would have to undo the casebac! Is it possible to simply remove the springs without the casebac? Because I waterproofed the watch and I believe that would ruin the seal...

wow max. i wouldn't have a clue. the pics are hard to tell, my assumption and first attempt would be try with a springbar tool or thumbtack.

when is the new bracelet coming in? and u make sure they check it before its sent, right? would be the LAMEST thing to get a stained bracelet in the mail.

That's a looker watch though.

I have to say if you don't get the satisfaction you deserve for paying 800.00 for this watch please drop the dealers name. I don't want to here "what do you expect its only 10% of the gen" b.s. 800.00 is alot to spend on a rep it should be right. Good luck Maxse, I hope it turns out well for you.

might be a bit obvious, but have you tried leaving a drop of bleach on it?

My gf's got a J12 but hers is the cheap enamel coated brass bracelet...

Do you have a shop that can water proof test around you? If so then it's just a matter of having it tested after you close it up again (I would have it tested anyway to make sure it really is waterproof). A little silicon grease ($5 I think from birdman on this forum) and you can relube the gasket if you want, all that holes the back on is a few screws, no tightening down a caseback here, just screw the screws tight and you should be good to go...

GL...

no tester around here that is why I had the watch tested to 3atm.

I am not putting bleach on the bracelet...

The dealer said that he would talk to his watchmaker yesterday and get back to me. I still did not recieve a response. I emailed today again to check on the status still nothing.

I got the watch from Josh. There is no $500 white version that is in 38mm size with a diamond bezel.

Joshua just suggested that I try to remove the stain with Nail-polish remover. Any thoughts?

I would not have thought of that... nail polish remover... I guess it could work... I think it has acetone in it which can eat away a lot of things.

If Josh says try it, I suppose you should... if it damages something you were only doing what he told you to, if it doesn't work, you tried what he asked you to, if it does work, hot sh!t!!!!

I wouldn't put bleach (or anything else on it) unless you get the go ahead from Josh... don't want to do some damage and have it be your fault...

Ummmm..........lemme get this straight.
You paid $800 HARD EARNED DOLLARS for a watch that is SCRATCHED and has STAINS, and the dealer told you to put Nail polish remover on it to remedy the situation?
Hello........I DONT THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe its just me but I dont give a flying leap who the dealer is "Trusted" or not, when I pay my hard earned money for a watch that is "Supposed" to be of a certain caliber I damn well expect to recieve that watch and nothing less....absolutely nothing less!!!!

Let me put it like this.........
You go to your local Jewelry Store.....You find a nice watch, doesnt even matter what brand cause for $800.00 you can get alot of watch....you get home and find out the bracelet is scratched and has stains. You go back to the store...........Now, do ya think there really gonna tell you to try "Nail Polish" remover to remedy the situation? Are you even gonna accept that answer if they do? I dont know about you but I'd be in a Tissy by now. If I paid that much someone is gonna replace the watch or give me my money back....PERIOD! If the dealer wants to put "whatever" on the watch more power to them, send it back and let them pour acid on it, you paid money for a service that was not provided, why is it "your" problem to fix the watch?????

Bottom line, do what you want......Me? New watch or money back.....nothing less.

Hellcat you know what? You are right. For an $800 rep. that was supposed to be the highest quality available on the market I really shouldnt have to install a new bracelet on it, or pour acetone on it to get rid of stains... I emailed Joshua and asked him not to send me a new bracelet but a new watch, and I will send this one back to him... What do you guys think?

Kill all dealers

take their watches!

the story is interesting, too bad

the conclusion was not in the first chapter..

good things can happen in conclusion..

and anger is a normal part of life.. as is redemption and

healing..

lol klink you are too funny.

Actually I am speaking to Josh and I must say he is trying very hard to make it right. He offered to change the bracelet for me himself but that would mean I have to send the watch back he has to recieve it change the bracelet and send it back to me. This is really not an option for me since I need the watch by Jan 31st. I asked him if I need to open the case back to get the bracelet out. If not he will just send me the new bracelet and I will replace it assuming it is not too difficult.

At least thats what I asked to be done. I am sure he wont mind. Ill keep you guys posted.

Its not about being right or wrong.....Its about paying for a service you did not get and will not be happy until you do. I think your on the right track now....get a new watch and dont accept anything less.

It's springbars attached to the metal backcase, according to trusty's pic. you dont have to remove the backcase... it looks like changing out any other bracelet on any other watch to me. you can do it and if not confident, any watchplace can change it out easily.

of course, i'm not 100% as the watch isn't right in front of me. For all i know, you might need a virgin sacrifice and gods of all things eternal will come down and... well, now i just sound ridiculous.

you what would stink? if you get the bracelet and it TOO has brown stains. [smilie=banghead.gif]
