Looks pretty damn good to me. I can live with an $800 rep not being absolutely identical to a $40'000 gen, or even a $3000 Franken.

me too and zorro's tachy will really set it off. Hopefully someone will offer the metallic paint dial finish as a mod.

I prefer this. I like the black date wheel it's what I have on my TC sub with red seconds hand. From what the article says will the forged carbon scratch easily then? If it does on the gen it's going to on the rep.

May be it will get scratched but you will not see it. I have even chipped off a small edge on my FC but do I mind; NO absolutely not! Why? You hardly see it. If I would have hit a SS watch so many times as my FC it would have had many more dents and scratches than now. Now only my endlinks and Ti buckle are full with tiny scratches but my FC watch is quite okay

Yummy. I'm with Sharrkey he's the reason I got into rg ap's. I just hope they get the silver surrounds on the sub dials right. On the gold noobs they looked a little fat

This curiosity is killing me.

I don;t care too much about the wrong dial shine.. but the techy looks too yellow, not gold.
But I agree that overall construction of the watch looks as good as Schumi. If the GP has a lot of metal parts like the Schumi stooges, it would have been easier to see the quality.
Since most of us are very reluctant at this stage to confidently pull the trigger on FC, I'll give it a try and report back on my impression.. not the GP expert impression since they are already way too bias, but noob impression. ;-)
I might actually get the Platinum as well for comparison sake. .. now i need to sell my FC44 to do that.. haha. Someone in need of JF FC44? oops! wrong section! Lol

tachy has been updated from the noob version, but its still in the wrong shade, its supposed to have a mirror finish with a bronze shine. heres a gen for reference;

having said this, i wouldnt get the jf version for FC, the case construction is better than the previous fc offered, but the tachy and dial makes it pointless considering that the finer points of the gp lies in the tachy and dial. its still a good piece imo, but i would much rather get the platinum which is less noticeable, gen for comparison;

wouldnt go as far as to say that the fc is shit, but it looks like a lego piece without the finer details.

Yes, I agree.

What makes the GP series unique are the anodised dial and the techy ring. Both of which have special shine to them. If you distance yourself from your favouritism for the GP from reading too much on this forum and put yourself in watch-noob's view point, it is not a great looking watch at all. I never took interest in it until this thread popped up. ... and got hooked into believing I love this watch.
As already mentioned by numerous members here, what makes this watch stand out is the unique colour. The rest of the constructions are given fact since we came a long way and now a days we expect such quality. It's not something to be overwhelmingly grateful for. Ever since the BB, which AP's been made like crap? almost zero. and they set the new bench mark since the introduction of the 44mm.
The colours of this watch is everything. and it's basically only area neglected by the factory..

I've anticipated too much to just go meh~ ..... so I'll buy it anyway.
But the truth still remains. They made the chocolate dough-nut without the chocolate.

When i look at the FC my heart says yes but the tachy can be changed but the dial is just waaaay off. So it is a no for me, but only hope rests in the RG GP. It is black dial and tachy so hope this makes it look more gen like.

I will probably pick up the FC next year when the GP are updated again...

The video from PT looks good..

However, the buyer needs to pay attention to the hour markers as the one on the video has crooked one.

It seems another bout of 'crooked marker' saga begins just like the LBJ.
