So, you do go from the inside to go through the lugs.

Then to ream at 1.3mm
You prelock the tip into the hole while power off, and then you power on?

You don’t lower the press turning?
When using the press it’s spinning as I lower the 1mm bit. I only insert the 1.3mm bit in my dremel. That bit I insert into the newly drilled exterior lug hole while turned off. It keeps me from walking a spinning bit all over the side of my lugs because I’m free handing a dremel. It’s just reaming out the hole so it doesn’t bind up when I do this.

You freehand the dremel for the outside-in at 1.3mm 😳

Oh wow, i need to try that
I have sometime the same issue with lowering the press while the bit is spinning

Trashed a case like this

I’ve seen your method. I skip the 1.2mm bit altogether. May not be best practice, but all I’m doing with the 1.3 is making it look genlike. Just hold the dremel as steady as you can with both hands (one one the switch) while the case is in the vice and level. Rest the tip of the bit in the hole and turn on. It’ll almost immediately fall through the hole with just the weight of the dremel so there’s not much chance of it walking across your case. I will say make damn sure your 1mm hole is clear of debris first. Snapped two bits quickly before I realized it was hitting a blockage! Knew something was wrong when the bit didn’t move and the hole turned cherry red almost instantly! Up to that one lug hole I had managed to drill two complete cases cleanly with the same two bits. Going forward I’ll probably drill the initial hole, sand and deburr, then use the 1.3 before final sand and polish just to make sure there’s nothing floating around in the lug holes.

This midcase case works well for a super Franken project. I wish it had proper movement cutouts and countersunk tube it to be more gen like. But I've this damn thing!

Sillan midcase and caseback
Gen dial, hands bezel assembly, bezel, crystal crown and datewheel
Ginault bracelet

I noticed when I did a crystal swap that with the bezel washer in place the bezel was too stiff to move. I had to remove it on both cases I swapped crystals in. Works perfectly now. Did you run into any issues?

I think I had a similar issue the first time I put it together. I took the bezel part again and used a different washer and things seemed to work. Not sure if it was the original washer or me just not getting something in the right place

This is awesome. I was thinking of building a second one that is a little cheaper. My super Franken has about $1,500 or more in it. I love it, but it's about as far as I can take it getting a gen mid case or gen movement. I looked at phong cases, which are supposed to be as close to gen as you can get, but he wants $1400 for a dang case. Y'all see. Any of his cases?
