Good Morning fellas. It is a good morning indeed. I've made a good career choice. An old boss reached out to me a few weeks ago about an opportunity that I was slightly hesitant to pursue do to the fact that we all get comfortable no matter what we do, and change can be scary. Funny enough though I was talking to a former colleague of mine about a month ago about changing careers, and what happened just the other day. He took a job at the same company four days ago. I got a chance to sit down and talk to him at their office, then I got to talk to my old boss which has basically been a life mentor for me throughout the past decade. I told him I'm all in this morning. God is good and knows when its time to speed things up and make you step outside your comfort zone.

Congrats Doc! That's awesome news! What do you do, if I may ask?

Thanks brothers! [MENTION=107800]Ralphy1975[/MENTION], I'll be stepping back into the car business. But not in the traditional sense of selling cars. I'm going to be their customer experience director, and also leading the new Genesis line thats dropping later in August. Hyundai is releasing their luxury line which you already know them as the car Genesis. Genesis will release the first two models the G80, and G90. It's an exciting opportunity to work with a favorite past boss, and mentor.

That's awesome man! Congrats again! I recently was offered a big job to go work for the leading heavy equipment in the area near me. My boss who I have worked for for the last 10 years didn't want to let me go, so he promoted me and exceeded their offer by a good deal. Kind of the same thing, he is my mentor, and it was really hard to look at leaving, but I got the best of both worlds, I got to stay with the promotion etc. So I understand where you are coming from.

We also had a Sonata for a while, 2011 with the Turbo, very fun to drive. I keep asking my wife if she wants a sedan and go with a Genesis (as they look amazing) but she prefers an SUV, go figure, lol. She's 5'1" and likes a big truck lol. Yes my wife is the tiny woman you see driving the big suv, sigh, lol... Anyway, can't wait to see what comes of this, very cool man!!!

Not a bad night for me man. All my watch tools showed up. Bought a bunch from Amazon. I'm going to start practicing soon on a cheap rep so I'll be able to do simple mods etc. Excited to continue with my 16710 Franken project. I sourced a cartel case with drilled lug holes and it should accept a gen dial. So I'm trying to carve some time out for this in the days ahead.

It's nice to have the right tools man, I remember when I jumped directly into deep waters and tried to repair a A7750. I managed to get it working except for the chrono function and I eventually lost a part. Lol. :lol: keep us posted how your project is going

On the subject on why women tend to like and choose an SUV over a more handsome four door sedan is because they dont think of the handling, safety factors, how it corners, etc.or anything else that drives us to pick a 'real car' against an SUV [truck] Yes, boys and girls, an SUV IS a truck clothed with a sedans clothes. The reason, well, she imagines loading it with 'stuff'. Yes, STUFF. Tall plants, a big chair, a big television set, half a dozen of her friends, picnic and camping stuff, not worrying if it 'will fit' or not, and more groceries, more this and that and more stuff. Lots of stuff. Makes them feel 'on top of the world'. So she can 'look down' high above and say, hey I'm up here bubba, and I feel tops !! What the hell is wrong with a real station wagon, which still is 'a car', for geeezez sake !! Add a roof rack on that damn station wagon, and you can come home with a queen sized bed tied to it ! What SUV can do that ?? I can not stand it when a tall SUV is right in front of me ! I cant see a damn thing in front of me. And the driver is on the freaking phone not paying attention !! I get a kick when friends come up to me and say, "I just bought a new car". Oh yeah, wow,where, which one ? I look around, and they point to a tall SUV. "Oh, I say, that SUV, hmmm, nice truck" . They frown !! He he ! Call it what it is buster !! It's still a truck !! Lol !! A car is a car, is a car !! ............... now for another cup of coffee. I am having coffee. Not "a coffee'' ............... sip, sip, sip.

There are some very hot staion wagons around...Mind you a Land Rover Range Rover or Porsche Cayeene, or Volvo Cx90 or Jaguar F Pace would be just fine!!!!

You might not like the view driving while being in Texas... A truck, is a truck, is a way of life. Hehe, I actually miss my truck(Tahoes, and my crewmax Tundra) I had a hell of a drive to work starting six years back when gas was pushing $4.00. I know $4.00, big whoop in Cali. But I was only averaging 16.8 from my 5.7L Tundra which wasn't bad with the six speed transmission it had in it. But I'm still traveling 70 miles a day. So I switched to a Hyundai Sonata. I don't miss buddies calling me to help me move crap all the time. But I do miss people getting the hell out of my way because I can be a little bit of a lead foot...

Well in our house, we've got a Volvo XC90 and a Jaguar XF-SportSE. We kinda fight over the Jag but TBH, my wife has never liked the SUV. I think it's great. Could do with a tuning chip though as the 2.4d5 engine is solid and reliable, but just not quite enough punch for such a big car. Still I get 42mpg on the motorway and 30 around town. It's great for such a big family as ours too. Plush and comfy for 1,000's of miles at a time. But for the drive, the Jag is a far better car.
[MENTION=109306]Hazza[/MENTION] sorry to hear your legal battle it's still ongoing. Hope you're keeping okay with all the stresses.

At home our build is coming along nicely. First fix electrics in, internal walls are going up and next week we get a new boiler. The dust and dirt is getting crazy now though as the ceilings have come down. This weekend I get to smash out the chimney stack which will make the kitchen room even bigger. There's been lots of decision making to do and money is going out fast. But for for £50k we put in, it should add £75k value to the house.

Travelling tomorrow. Will be a long day out so hope y'all have a good one.
