Welcome, mate. I can't answer, all your questions, but a couple of points. People tend to recommend sticking to stainless steel reps because the gold plated ones don't age particularly well, although Godfather's is holding up well it seems. Secondly, you're not supposed to link to perfect clones because they're not a TD here.
I'm pretty certain the watch you've linked is expensive because of the gold in it; the miyota movement is Japanese and not particularly expensive. The miyota rotor on my nautilus is quite loud though, which may irritate you if you're spending that much.
If you're deadset on gold, Godfather's V6F SW200 version is probably the safer way to go, especially if it's your first rep. Good luck
Thanks very much Nivka for the informative response. Open apology to linking to a non TD I should have checked the list. I have a few ages open on my computer from links I found in threads and just assumed they were one of them.
Ok well now all I have to do is find a sw200 V6 and then make sure I study the pics so I didn't get sent an older model which I heard can happen when stock is low.
Out of curiosity has anyone here any knowledge of the gold wrapping process? Is it at all similar to PVD/DLC? I'm in London UK so perhaps there could be someone who could do this. Any ideas?
I am after 2 more watches a Nautilus (but seems everyone is waiting on a new rep) and also a AP that I want to have DLC coated like below. Not for everyone but like the tonal layered black look, but have to get reading about AP chrono reps and if they work etc then find someone who will work on a rep!
