I'm planning the following fix: upgrade to sw200-1 (which was Sellita's answer to the ratchet wheel problem). The upgrade is established by swapping three wheels:

http://www.sellita.ch/images/stories/documents/IS05_evolution_calibre_SW200_vers_SW200-1.pdf

I'm currently looking for a watch smith willing to do the fix.

Still I think the v6f version is worth the buy. I absolutely love it...

Did you already bought the wheels to substitute the "weak" ones ? Are they available thru the usual channels (ofrei and similar) ?

Please keep us updated.

My V6F is ongoing, after a first rejection.

Many thanks for your post !

Wheels are available. I found a watchmaker who will do the fix for me. His supplier will provide the parts. Approx. total costs: 50 euros.

Will keep you updated...

Wouldn't be great if PP came out this Basel with this lovely combo for the Aquanaut? blue dial and blue strap.. !!! I think it looks fantastic, and would be a great seller.

The blue dial version has been already made in late 90's for the japan market in a limited production.

Knowing PP approach on limiting the overall production flow, I would not bet in a 'regular' blue dial production

Well that is correct, but it's Ref. 5066, a variation of the Ref. 5065 which is 38mm dial, not the same as the one Nivka is wearing, Ref. 5167 which is 40mm dial...

My comment was directed to Ref. 5167.. which doesn't exist with blue dial and blue strap :D

You are correct: this "old" version is the 38mm wide, not connected with current "Jumbo" one

I discovered this "limited edition" version in the "Antiquorum" web site. There was this auction almost 10 years ago

I ordered the V6F version with the SW200 movement and rejected the first proposed watch for some problem. Meanwhile I did and I'm continuing in my homeworks in order to understand the watch

For this reason I'm following this section of the forum and I was very happy to make my (very little) contribution

Hi, I have been following this thread since the beginning, but am a bit confused about the following:

Certain factories produce different versions, such as the V6F factory or BP. Within these versions, different movements are available.

Why does a switch to the SW200 movement for the V6F version provide the best dial? Why does the watch from the same V6F factory with a different movement (such as the Asian Automatic movement) have a different dial? I assumed that all V6F versions are the same (apart from the case thickness), and the dial would be the same for all movements.

Could please clarify this?

Great write up by @Godfathar as always.... thanks for the detailed write up...

But what I want to know is what's the weight of the rep Rg aquanaut ? And what's the weight on the Gen RG version? Anyone?

Different movements have different locations for the dial feet (little metal prongs on the back of the dial that anchor it to the movement). Maybe they have different dials because of the different dial feet requirements?

I was wondering same thing as Toro has the V6 in Sw200 or Eta version. I assumed dial is the same..or not?

Firstly thank you to Godfather and other contributors to this post and the industry as a whole. I have bought some Gen watches over the years such as Cartier Santos 100, submariner (stolen!) and finally a Breguet Marine. After the breguet failed just outside the warranty with a £1500 bill I decided that while I wanted to buy a new watch I might instead enjoy some reps!!
With that like many of you I want the best watch I can get. I am ok to spend up to $1000 or so if it's a close rep. ( I think there is a gap in the market for a smaller dealer with only the real super reps who perhaps hand finishes the smaller mistakes and sells at a higher lever btw! )

I would like to get a rose gold aquanaut and close as possible to the original so sw200 but I have been thrown off the scent a bit by the is wrapped gold offering from perfect clones...
http://www.pf-818.com/watches/patek...aut-jumbo-v3-auto-rg-ru-grey-miyota-9015.html

Is this simply paying for the gold wrap? And is it everyone's opionion they have done this higher quality finish to the wrong base watch? I can't find this quality gold on a v6F sw200 anywhere?!

Finally, as I have a SS bregurt marine on a black rubber strap I considered a brown dial and strap aquanaut. Is this a good choice or is the better Rep the black dial watch?

Many thanks for responses!

Welcome, mate. I can't answer, all your questions, but a couple of points. People tend to recommend sticking to stainless steel reps because the gold plated ones don't age particularly well, although Godfather's is holding up well it seems. Secondly, you're not supposed to link to perfect clones because they're not a TD here.

I'm pretty certain the watch you've linked is expensive because of the gold in it; the miyota movement is Japanese and not particularly expensive. The miyota rotor on my nautilus is quite loud though, which may irritate you if you're spending that much.

If you're deadset on gold, Godfather's V6F SW200 version is probably the safer way to go, especially if it's your first rep. Good luck
