Got my BP Explorer 316L with A2836 movement from Lucy which took about 4 months to receive. Had it for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it, definitely worth the wait. Looks beautiful and feels solid.
Chose the BP since it was the model with the most gen like dial, and I wouldn't be able to stand the incorrect number 3. The bracelet, despite what I've read, feels perfectly fine and doesn't squeak or rattle. The movement is quiet and winds very smoothly as well.
My only minuscule criticism is the SEL recess. The SEL recess on 1'o clock and 7'o clock direction are perfect, 10/10. However the ones on 5'o clock and 11'o clock are ever slightly higher. I couldn't capture this with my camera because it wouldn't focus. But this is only a small criticism that you have to look extremely closely, on the wrist you won't ever notice.
The watch runs 20 to 30 seconds slower per day. I'm not too concerned with the accuracy of the watch so I could care less. And I like this watch so much that once the movement gives out I'm thinking of having gen ETA movement put in.
This leads to a question that I hope one of you can help out. I ordered this with 2836 movement, but someone here said that BP explorer 2836 is actually a 2824 that has been mislabeled. So does that mean when I want to swap in the gen movement I should use ETA 2824? Or is the size of the movement so similar that the case can take either one? I've read the 2836 is slightly thicker than 2824 due to the day/date function. Don't want to buy a gen movement and turn out to not fit. I don't know much about movements so I'd appreciate some help. Thanks
