I have had the BP EX1 214270
Saw in detail the Clean EX1 214270
and I know the GEN EX1 214270 from 2019 (not to mistake with the first version with shorter hands and other dial until the EX1 214270 had until approx. 2016)

The BP was already top notch !!
Very well done and a real "NWBIG" ... who can live with a not clone movement = perfect.
For the price and its reliable movements = perfect to wear and enjoy it.
If you want to start a Franken project with a BP as base = NO
Therefore were in the past other models better like the older "ARF" models for this watch. (this was also a great rep but discontinued)

The Clean is an overal nice REP for this model.
Rehaut engraving more GEN like - BUT this you can also see in detail.
Advantage of the Clean is also, you are able to insall GEN dial, hands... cause of the clone mvt.

So it is mostly up on yourself, what your plans are.
BP and Clean are both really good REP's

Thank you for your reply.
I'm a product designer and I can't think of any other watch that I would prefer than an Explorer I. I just want to buy one to wear, enjoy and use and I don't have any plans to do anything to it.

I got distracted the other day when I was looking at a Tudor Black Bay 39mm with blue dial. That really is a stunning watch but not quite as nice as the Explorer.
I've always been a quartz watch man so curious what sort of accuracy and time keeping I would get with the Clean Factory movement?

overall +/-20s per day easy, down to -/+10 or less if you get it regulated

quartz will always be much more accurate...and most importantly keep running for years even if you don't wear it.

On an automatic mechanical watch, if you don't wear it 2 days, it stops. But again, much of the joy of a mechanical watch is to set it and wind it...

Very different experiences

Very different experience indeed! I have an Oceanus T200 that's quartz regulated, has solar charging, and time keeping updated either by the atomic clock or the app on my phone. None of this +/- 20 seconds a day stuff!
But yes, I understand about the beauty of a purely mechanical movement and the regular involvement with that and am happy to go along with that.
