Hey guys, just got my QC pics from trusty time. From my novice eyes it looks good to me. Anyone see something that would RL this piece or am I good to go? Timegrapher is -1/day.

Follow your instincts, as good as it gets. Timegrapher is good.

I bought a BP Explorer 904 on M2M and love it.

The guy before me gave the bracelet an ultrasonic bath and overnight in baby oil, I have no complaints about the bracelet it looks and feels gen. My only gripe is the clasp which is good but not great.

The clone 2824 has recently started stopping and starting again, so I’ll look down see it ticking but it’ll lost 15 minutes somewhere. Which makes it useless to. Probably just needs a service but I’ve bought an gen ETA elabor on eBay and I’m just waiting to get it fitted.

I’m contemplating getting a ARF bracelet. Any any experience of swapping or seeing both side by side?

Found a really interesting post on RWG (had to get my fix while RWI was down) which covers a lot of detail about the differences between BP and ARF and the compatibility of different parts.

Can't really find the BP 316L version, is the price different $30? between 316 and 904?
i.e. $325 vs $358?

I asked chazingtime if he could source it for me. That and an A2824 movement. Got it for 302EUR.

thanks, so its a $50 diff between 316 and 904. Seems like not a lot for a "better" option.

I went 904L as I knew I wanted to get an ARF bracelet on it eventually. Here's how mine currently sits:

BPF 904L a2824
top grade eta 2824 with date function removed as well as setting lever change for no date
aftermarket crown (the BPF was bad, threads felt gritty and grooves felt rounded so it was hard to get a hold of)
100M WR test

I could stop there but I ended up getting a gen crown and tube set and the ARF bracelet. On the fence about putting them all on or just holding for when the movt needs a service. The BPF bracelet has been fine so far. Overall very happy with it.

Am I right in identifying this as an A2836 and that I can recognize by the calendar spring in the circle?
Thanks

BP does not use 2836s in these, despite what some TD listings may say. It's a 2824.

You have to look further inward at the spot you've circled for what appears to be a slotted hole in the movement, which is there to fit a calendar spring part on a 2836. That slotted hole (actually a cut circle) is not present on a 2824.

Thanks kJ, at last. Difficult to understand the differences for a layman. I honestly forgot what I ordered, I just wanted an ETA clone, let chazingtime do the rest. Got those pictures and could at least recognize it wasn't a superclone.

I had a BP with Swiss ETA that I sold and regret. Recon I needed an ARF bracelet also. Might wait to see if anyone can nail the new 36mm Explorer 1. Current offerings have the wrong taper.

Dear @KJ2020

How are you? Thank you for all of your guidance.

Based on your recommendation, I bought the BP 2824 Explorer, and I love the watch; it is currently my favorite watch.

Today I dropped the watch, and the bezel popped off. I pushed the bezel back into place with my hands, but now the bezel is loose. I can remove the bezel and crystal with my fingernail. Does the bezel replacement require a bezel press to make sure the bezel is now secure ?

Thank you!

Anyone franken their 214270? Granted like that article showed they are hard to come by. Any other compatible gen hands fit this watch?

Is this reading acceptable? And the lume doesn’t seem to be consistent. Is that normal?
Rate is absolutely acceptable, the amplitude seems high, a value of 270-310 would be optimum. It tells you how much rotation the balance wheel has. But my knowledge is purely "academic" (from reading stuff), I have no hands-on experience and wouldn't know if or how bad that is.
Regarding the lume, for me they just quickly illuminated the dial with a penlight for the purpose of the shot and that's why it looks so inconsistent. You could ask for another lume pic if that bothers you.

Thank you for your reply. You might be right abt the reason for the lume. To me 6, 9 and the hands seem brighter than the other markers. I have asked for another lume pic, just to make sure. Thats why i had raised the question, if others have experienced this and if this was ok.
The readings i am not sure as well myself. I opted for the recommended eta 2824 movement for this watch. I also thought it should be under 300. Its a little out of range but hopefully nothing to be concerned about
