On a structured surface it's better to use MICROSCALE SOL than varnish.
It soften the decal.
Only tried SOL on boat models but I will try on some structured dials (honeycomb/checkerboard/something else) as soon as I find some time to finish the etching design work.

And.... That is how it is done! How do you cut out the center without ruining the decal?

These get better and better. I'm very proud to own one of the previous versions, but the gold plating has really moved things up a couple of notches. Well done my friend.
