Surely someone knows someone that knows someone ;)

Evolution in printing dial for me would be trying this pad printer out for $300... but gets more complicated and more $$$ so wait and see ..plus creating dial plates etc

Pad printing is a logistical anomaly for me, too much to do and to go wrong. Good luck if you try!
I just assumed with such technical advances it be 'easier' to just print one on a high tech printer :)

Agree .. however there is the 3d effect of ink you just can not get otherwise .. also means you can add the print at any stage of dial creation .. ideal for a tropic or textured effect .. however as you point out more to go wrong

In fact I already know someone who has one.
But its not a friend, just a good professional contact, so I'm slowly working on that and waiting for a "gap" in his production process.

Yes
I'm very happy to see how some members follow me and choose to create their own dials.
And I will have less ask in pm ;)

Hmmm ... not so sure
unFORTUNATELY most of the watch lovers that follow your path are gentlemen.
So each time they'll show their own productions they will refer to you as "the guy that inspired them" (sorry buddy ... too much hairs on the forearms to be a "muse").
So the more you'll have followers the more people will know @Bart Cordell ... and the more you'll get PMed.
But you know what it is ... "La Rançon de la Gloire" ;)

Never because I was interested in gilt dials only. But It could be done on a white painted plate. Or white decals.

Gilt white dials ... Yesterday I talked with a friend who's a fan of modelism and he think there could be a way to do that, with very crispy details.
But that's without decals so I will create a specific thread
... when I have tried
... if it works
... so ... not soon but someday

I will wait patiently..... I'm sure one of the artists here will attempt it!

Sent from the RWI mobile app
There's a PanAm GMT Albino :bless: somewhere on my building list.
Templates are already done for the white dial (decal on "cream" lacquer) and the case back engraving.
But you know what it is : Too much ideas and too much builds to do but only two hands and ... only one wallet :bang:
So I'll have to wait

Well this has inspired me to work on having a crack making a BC gilt dial ... well done all and thanks for the insights Bart. Brilliant work all around ... the whole lume idea is one still pondering .. here is my mock up dial working on a 5513 Tropical ..colored in for reference before I turn it back to white, still working on Fonts. Work on the texture as still getting a pattern bit work in progress

Bart uses photoshop, however I would highly recommend illustrator as it is designed for print work as it is vector based and therefor does not pixelate and is much easier to align and be precise. I use both.

This IS true, but there is more of a learning curve...

Good tutorials on youtube and google search ..the time spent to learn illustrator will be saved in time trying to do something in photoshop that it is just not built to do ...
