V7 uses a2824 which means you can easily modify it to a low beat movement which matches the gen. It also has a closed caseback. V8 I believe is open caseback and the decorative plate over the crappy miyota won't fool anyone I'm afraid.

As you can see, there are very little flaws and differences between the rep and gen. I am sure other members will concur with me...

I love my steelfishes (have 2, and 2 more are incoming), but I would put it as a borderline super/first class. The square seconds hand, while accurate to the first batch? of gen production, was phased out so long ago that it's basically a tell at this point. When they get serviced, they get the arrow hand.

Fantastic rep no doubt, but the square kind of kills it.

No problem. The h factory SteelFish has a seconds hand that has a square shape at the end of it. This square shape is correct to the first batch of 44mm SteelFish that came out. The original SteelFish was 42mm and has the square shape. Later 44mm SteelFish had a seconds hand that had an arrow shape at the end of it. The problem is the square shape only existed for 1 year out of the 8 or so that the SteelFish was produced. And gen owners that sent it in for service received SteelFish back with an arrow shape (I believe I read that somewhere). So the amount of 44mm SteelFish in the world with the square seconds hand shape is so few it is basically a tell.

That's why I said I thought it should be considered on the edge between super/first class. It's a fantastic rep that is technically correct, but as the threads mentioned, the square hands is basically a tell.

The NSD is an amazing rep. I hated selling mine I just never wore it. Like with the bpff and many others the first batch of these were the best.
