What an amazing culmination of information and an invaluable resource. Thank you.
I’m studying it and feel like I’m starting to get a handle on the basics. I’m realizing it might be helpful to actually understand how the parts go together and make a watch function in the first place 😂

I recently came across a Daytona rep from DIWF that is a DiW rep in a carbon fiber case. It is definitely a departure form a traditional Daytona and the case back is closed so I am less concerned about visible difference and more concerned about functionality and reliability. The movement is referenced as a DD4801. I didn’t see that referenced in your write up. Do you have any insights to share on this movement?
The DD4801 is the same as the SL-4801 which is the street legal Dandong version of the Rolex 4130. I mention it in the context or the ARF Daytona movement. It’s not a bad movement although it has some quirks like a one-way winding automatic rotor, so it can be loud in the other direction.
