Seems my clock chat winds your spring
The single biggest problem of whatever factory producing daytonas nowadays is the case shape if one can see it close enough.I just got a couple of stock CF, so let me contribute a bit to this tread. gen is always to the left or on top
The last photo of the curvature is the biggest issue with ALL the rep cases, they are just not correct. We like to start out with the CF as a base, because every single surface has to be worked on, and the CF has sufficient metal in all the correct places, to give the best end result. The CF also has the best dial, in regards to print quality, font size, placement, subdial etc. only issue is of course the gray color
.
Looks like a CF dial in a BTF case yeah? Looks great!
Yes! And Gen CrystalLooks like a CF dial in a BTF case yeah? Looks great!
Whats your take on BTF vs gen crystal specifically with regards to the CF dial - what changes did you notice when swapping it out?Yes! And Gen Crystal
Yes! And Gen Crystal
Clarity is unmatched on Gen. I think it is worth it for the PandaWhats your take on BTF vs gen crystal specifically with regards to the CF dial - what changes did you notice when swapping it out?
Probably the clearest and best example comparison I've seen to date. Thank you for the time and photos.I just got a couple of stock CF, so let me contribute a bit to this tread. gen is always to the left or on top

Yes but check out these photos with the CF on the right (I believe it has a deep crystal on right @2841 ?), the deep crystal looks less reflective than the gen one on the left.Clarity is unmatched on Gen. I think it is worth it for the Panda
I really think it doesYes but check out these photos with the CF on the right (I believe it has a deep crystal on right @2841 ?), the deep crystal looks more reflective than the gen one on the left.
What I'm basically wondering is, does the gen crystal subdue the grey hue of the dial / brighten it up?
The gen crystal and the deep will not give the CF dial 2 different outcomes I had the CF dial in a 520 case with a gen crystal, color, hue etc is the same.Yes but check out these photos with the CF on the right (I believe it has a deep crystal on right @2841 ?), the deep crystal looks less reflective than the gen one on the left.

I will say though, I just sold a BTF dial in a CF case with a CF crystal and the result was pretty damn good! The reflectiveness is definitely closer to gen compared to Deep, which is basically see throughThe gen crystal and the deep will not give the CF dial 2 different outcomes I had the CF dial in a 520 case with a gen crystal, color, hue etc is the same.
The gen crystal has better champers, but the clarity is the same. I would still use a gen crystal on a high end build. But the the deep is an ABSOLUTE must, if you have ANY CF watch, and want to mod it lighty Their crystals are just garbage
I think the BTF crystal is good enough, what's different then gen?Yes! And Gen Crystal
Gen is Gen.I think the BTF crystal is good enough, what's different then gen?
Deep is transparent unlike gen but is a nice upgrade on CF. I find tge CF panda dial to be beautiful when paired with a Gen. Crystal. Just my opinionI love lamp.
I’ve had about 15-20 CF different models over the last couple of years, and I must strongly disagree. the CF crystals is some of the worst shit I’ve ever seen, and they are in no way or form close to gen.I will say though, I just sold a BTF dial in a CF case with a CF crystal and the result was pretty damn good! Last pics is exactly what I wanted to see! Thanks!!! What about BTF and ZF?I just got a couple of stock CF, so let me contribute a bit to this tread. gen is always to the left or on top

CF have the worst crystals in the industry. Which should always be replaced IMO as they ruin what are otherwise good reps. You can take the crystal from any mid range rep like BP / GMF and it would be a dramatic improvement in the stock CF.I will say though, I just sold a BTF dial in a CF case with a CF crystal and the result was pretty damn good!
